Latest

Seven overs remain tonight - Worcs 89-2...can we steal another wicket before the end? Go on!

6:30pm

via SMS

Brandonia: I don't think even Rastamouse could fathom that out!

bryn

We could do with him trying to solve what's gone wrong at dccc, irie maan

via SMS

Brandonia: I'd give Scotty a bowl when Stokes needs a rest.

Stokes again!

And a second wicket for Stokes! Solanki is out lbw on 13. Worcs 77-2. Come on Durham!

6:07pm

roker1973

truth is marra we need too win this game but i cant see it, we need a big clean out and start again next season and get promotion.

bryn

Had a good time trying though!

roker1973

guess what happend in the great escape bryn ? yes they all got caught lol.

bryn

The great escape starts here!

BrianT

An important wicket that. Weather closing in so a change of luck perhaps.

via SMS

Brandonia: Whoooomp there it is!

Mark

Perfect timing!

roker1973

there ya go mark noo they will fall like dominoes

WICKET!!!

Stokes makes the breakthrough! Worcs 63-1 after Mitchell is caught behind on 24.

5:55pm

Mark

I still think Worcestershire have a fragile batting lineup-if we can just get one wicket 2 or 3 could easily follow quickly

via SMS

Brandonia: Who's given up like?

roker1973

probs given up hope cos wa cak this season, as i said all last year and year before there is no new blood coming through, and durham pay too much interest in limited overs cricket

Bowling change

Chris Rushworth comes on for a spell now - 16 overs remain tonight with Worcs currently 59-0.

5:49pm

via SMS

Less than half the game gone and some of you have given up already.

via SMS

Brandonia: I'd love to I knar where you get that positivity from Yvette. I need some of that for me breakfast!

Two appeals

Two appeals in Thorpy's latest over...but to no avail...we must be getting close! Worcs 58-0.

5:43pm

roker1973

i think we need a shower in worcester, wey a diffrent kind anyway

via SMS

Brandonia: Anyone else think Worcester will get a big lead?? Rain might spare us a defeat but draws are new good to us.

roker1973

couldnt take advantage of cheryl cole after a neet oot

Response to roker1973

Don't start that - I'm just keeping you all in the picture! The sun is goign in so hopefully we can take advantage!

5:36pm

roker1973

best say nowt aboot that brian

BrianT

Decent start for them all the same. 20 overs left. Bring on Blackie. Oops!

roker1973

brando marra thats yeer told lol

Response to Brandonia

The pitch will have dried a fair bit since the sun came out - can't control the weather...sadly! They have had the better of the conditions.

5:34pm

via SMS

Brandonia: So much for the wicket doing a bit.......

roker1973

Brandonia: These two are well in now like. Can see a lead of 100+ for them. Out openers are nowt like these two.

Latest

Eleven overs bowled her, Worcs 28-0, as Onions continues

5:05pm

Mark

Onions & Rushworth keeping it tight-hopefully the pressure will get us a wicket...or9

Latest

Worcs 10-0...32 overs remain this evening

4:48pm

Mark

I'm confident we'll get them out cheaply.

keenasmustard

Like us they've only hit two CC tons this season. If we don't get them out for a lower score than us then I think we'll struggle in the second half of the season too.

tomb

Middelsex were skittled out today by Notts, lets hope we can do the same to Worcestershire

roker1973

back in 20 mins

BrianT

12

I'm back!

Two overs gone here - Worcs 4-0.

4:31pm

via SMS

Event number anyone?

via SMS

Brandonia: I knar marra. I think it's fair to say I've been rather critical of it this season! 8 batting points in 9 games tells its own story! So, Live

chrissafc

yvette

roker1973

be honest though brando our batting has been s-yt this season, thats why were bottom marra

chrissafc

has yevtte got lost?

via SMS

Brandonia: What's the station on TuneIn folks? Anyone?

via SMS

Brandonia: Seems that way Roker, that said 243 may be a good score in these conditions. We'll only know when they've batted.

Mark

243 might be a very good score if it's tricky conditions for batting & I expect it is.

roker1973

well lads seems too me the same old story this season, not many runs on the board

via SMS

moving forward.

via SMS

Brandonia: Well, great effort from the tail, useless effort from the top order - nowt new there. On a positive note it'll be doing a bit and the game is

Frankjw

hope they will be 3 down before your back, Yvette

Tea

Tea will now be taken...I shoudl be back for the start but I am about to run back to the hotel for my backup charger so please be kind if I'm five minutes late...it's a steep hill!

4:04pm

chrissafc

he is 1 player who can be described as brilliant so far this season

Durham post 243

Durham post 243 as Rushworth is caught off Richardson, Onions 25*.

4:03pm

chrissafc

Onions must be near the top of our run scorers this season

tomb

Good knock from Thorpey

Tynevalleyblackcat

Come on lads, lets get these extra 15 runs.

Durham nine down

Durham 235-9 as Thorp is caught in the slips off Richardson for 30. Rushworth joins Onions (17*)

3:54pm

Tynevalleyblackcat

Valuable runs these in what we hope will be a low scoring match.

keenasmustard

This is a pretty useful partnership.

Latest

Durham 228-8 with 20 minutes until the tea break.

3:49pm

Frankjw

224/8 but 250 a big ask

Frankjw

Richardson back on for Worcs

IAIN6W

n

IAIN6W

With the weather in mind.Get 250,the declare.

christoff

runs flowing nicely here

chrissafc

which is why i think we should have a go at them

Ridgeley

Bound to end in a rain affected draw.....

tomb

Agreed, lets not get carried away. It seems like a decent effort but time will tell, or the rain will render it mostly irrelevant

safcluke

yep, well done Durham for scoring 200 runs.

Tynevalleyblackcat

You can talk all you like about the pitch but this is only a good score if we can force the win. If more time is lost to rain, then its all about the bonus points and 249 or less only gets us 1 batting point. We will not get away from the bottom with low bonus point draws.

Durham 200

Durham pass the 200 mark - 207-8 as Onions and Thorp crack on!

3:30pm

chrissafc

well done durham

keenasmustard

First batting point

chrissafc

do we declare at 200 to stop them getting another bowling point? cheeky i know

chrissafc

1 run to go

tomb

Its been raining for two days there, I'm suprised they made it on the field today

Ang

let's hope so

chrissafc

3 runs to go

IAIN6W

This might be not to bad a score. Seems to be a pitch your never in on. Lot of our lads have got starts.

keenasmustard

Damp I'm guessing.

Ang

Does anyone know what conditions are like in Worcs?

Ang

did I speak too soon?

Durham eight down

Durham 193-8 after Mustard is caught by Hughes off Jones for 32.

3:21pm

IAIN6W

Good afternoon all. Thinks not looking to positive just now but wait until Worcs have batted to see what the bigger picture is. Apologies for my negative comments towards the Worcs commentators yesterday,I was having a bad day!!

Ang

closing in on a rare and precious batting point

Latest

Durham 190-7, with Mustard 29* and Borthwick 5*.

3:18pm

chrissafc

britain.

chrissafc

repeat from earlier, awful for britian

chrissafc

haye vs chisora press conf on now. what a joke this is

chrissafc

i think this will be alright.

BrianT

If we had bowled first in this game we might have been sitting here thinking we had turned the corner. Wait and see what they do when we've finished.

keenasmustard

We don't know how good or bad our score is until Worcs bat. They may get a lot less than us. Also we still have 3 wickets left. Our tail could wag.

tomb

I think it was time for a change, not saying it was Phils fault but sometimes a change is needed. Could be that Phil was almost too popualr to be a captain, if that makes any sense at all?

BrianT

Phil Mustard is a fine cricketer who has looked to me as if he was carrying the world on his shoulders. Paul Collingwood is one of the most experienced cricketers in the world. One who has made the best of his talents. Let them get on with it.

christoff

my point exactly Ang

Ang

Batters have been poor so far this year. Not much a captain can do to get other people some runs.

chrissafc

we are bottom for a reason, but hope things change

chrissafc

i wouldnt describe much of our lvcc campaign this season as brilliantly

christoff

A captain is responsible for organising the field and bowlers which Phil has done brilliantly this year.

chrissafc

i'm not at all convinced he was "stripped" of the captaincy. i think it's a poor word to use. personally think it's all been agreed in a positive manner for the good of the team as opposed to "you're crap, you're no longer captain, get lost" sort of thing

Ridgeley

I wanna live like common people i wanna do whatever common people do!

tomb

Will Smith was sacked for a lot less.

Ang

I'm hoping meagre runs on the board will turn out to be a good score...?

Frankjw

A 4 and a 6 for Phil in last over

SuperBenks

Hopefully the captain change can take some pressure of Mustard, let him bat like he used to. We really need his runs down the order.

tomb

He might have been happy to step down? Plus our new captain is unavailable

christoff

What a surprise a change of captain has not impproved our batting. I think it was very harsh for Phil to be stripped of the captaincy!!!

Durham 169-7

Durham 169-7 as Borthwick is dismissed.

3:00pm

Frankjw

Scotty out

tomb

England are 4th in the football rankings, two spots ahead of Italy

tomb

Surrey not doing great today, so a draw wouldnt be too costly, a defeat would certainly be. Still 7 games after this, most against teams around us.

safcluke

Relegation looms like.

chrissafc

australia remain number 1 in the odi ICC rankings

chrissafc

cheers

tomb

Well done Chris

BrianT

200 would be like climbing Everest. Sounds very difficult however we are playing Worcester so all is notlost.

Durham 150-6

Benks is bowled by Andrew for 30. Durham 150-6 as Borthwick joins Mustard (5*)

2:32pm

chrissafc

150-5 keep going lads

tomb

Wow, sounds glamourus!

Update

Durham 143-5, Benks 27* and Mustard 1*.

2:18pm

Response to tomb

That's what;s being said in the press box I gather...I am sat on a bench outside!

2:17pm

BrianT

Occupy the crease for long periods of time. Captain's orders.

tomb

Score of 200 could be very decent in these conditions? If its as gloomy as here.

bryn

Could do with one to warm my ***les, just got in drenched

aapierre

Sailor Jerry [other rums are available] is best served with diet coke and ice. Then quarter a lemon and squeeze fresh lemon juice into it. better than watching Durham bat

chrissafc

gutted for him, really wanted him to do well today

Durham 127-5

Durham 127-5 as Michael Richardson is caught by Mitchell off Andrew. Phil Mustard joins Benkenstein (22*)

2:05pm

tomb

You've had better than us then , its rained since 10ish and rained all day yesterday

bryn

aftas all,this weathers pure 100% rascal :-(

We're on!

I was starting to doubt we were ever going to get a break, but day two finally begins! Durham resume on 127-4.

1:56pm

Update

Hoping to start at 2pm with 67 overs to play.

1:33pm

Ridgeley

Il give it a twirl at the weekend brando! Gotta keep up with the cool kids!

Latest

The umpires are going to inspect again at 1.30pm - there was rain during the early lunch.

1:11pm

via SMS

Brandonia: I drink it with ice Ridge but you can have Cola with it if you want. I don't mind.

safcluke

Are we?

safcluke

Are starting at ten past 1 then?

chrissafc

*thrilled

chrissafc

I'm sure he's trilled at playing at Guildford :)

safcluke

"Kevin Pietersen spent the day in the field as Surrey bowl first against Lancashire. He bowled 2 overs for 150 runs and the Surrey members screamed in excitement"

tomb

As keen as Mustards says Sky Sports news County Cricket summary of the day will be England captain Andrew Strauss scored x runs for Middlesex against league leaders Notts, Englands Kevin Pieterson did not get to bat for Surrey in preparation for the Test match but took a catch off x

tomb

Lancs 81-1 against Surrey, a Lancs win would help our cause

tomb

I read that Geoff Cook complemented Mark Stoneman on his innings yesterday

keenasmustard

Little & Large. Great double act that complimented each other too.

tomb

Cup of tea and a slice of cake compliment each other well.

keenasmustard

Hard drugs and hard liquer. Two things that compliment each other. Ask any 60s/70s rock star.

tomb

Whats the local beer down there, is it Banks?

Tristan

coca cola has no place near anything alchoholic, it's blasphemy

tomb

Its to be avoided...unless you're a pirate

Ridgeley

*taken *with something ...hic lol

Ridgeley

Brando is Sailor Jerry to be tajen neat or with a dash if sonething cheeky? Coca Cola perhaps?

Latest

An early lunch will be taken at 12.30 and providing there is no more rain, play should start at 1.10pm.

11:48am

via SMS

Brandonia: Blimey, someone's been reading Viz Top Tips!

keenasmustard

Lancs going quite well. The media will only be interested when KP bats.

tomb

Oh Surreys game has started.....

tomb

George Osbornes real name is Gideon.

keenasmustard

Tanni Grey-Thompson's real first name is Carys.

tomb

You can add lemon juice to your hair and when it dries you get blonde highlights

BrianT

Same applies if you use ice scrapings from inside your bedroom window. August onwards.

safcluke

I thought we were just being random?

keenasmustard

If you put condensed water from a tumble drier into your iron, it reduces limescale.

BrianT

Erm. I see.

safcluke

well everyday you go to work, see a colleague. Surely it's standard practise.

BrianT

Explain that one please.

safcluke

Apparently seeing a work colleague is standard practise.

chrissafc

apparently burping after a meal in russia is good manners

tomb

Other games also delayed with the rain, keeping an eye on Surreys match. Russians eh, that must be why 'Arry has distanced himself from the national teams job.

via SMS

Brandonia: Them pesky Russians. They're ignorant mind them lot, never smile or hold the lift for you when you're abroad!

via SMS

are on it!

via SMS

Brandonia: I replied last night to the Sailor Jerry question but Yvette was too quick for me on disabling the chat. It is sweet rum and all the cool kids

BrianT

Keenas: You've made my day with that one.

dalesgirl

My grandma used to blame the bad weather on the Russians

tomb

I blame the tories for the crap weather

keenasmustard

Luxury. We couldn't afford sun when I was a kid. Had to make do with a fried egg stuck on the bedroom window.

chrissafc

we used to play cricket and football in the streets then used to get chased off all the old bags who whinged about us enjoying our youth

tomb

We used to play footy every day of the summer hols and some years we had sunny weather most of the time, only a handful of wet days. Since I've started booking days off for the cricket we've had poor weather for the cricket except two seasons ago when we were 5th and only lost one game.

Ridgeley

When i was a lad the sun shone every day in the 6 weeks holidays....pity we didnt have a 1st class county then like lol

Update

The umpires are hoping to take a look at 11.30 - providing the rain doesn't continue to fall.

10:58am

tomb

It happened the first year we won the championship, hardly saw any cricket at the Riverside.

BrianT

Rain will continue to fall until school holidays have come and gone. It's been that way since I was at school. It's not like it hasn't happened before, like last year!

More rain...

The rain is falling again so inspection is delayed...

10:42am

Latest

Umpires inspection is due at 10.50..

10:36am

Ridgeley

Ah! Cheers Keeny!

archietino

does any one know what has happended with the chat forum on here?

safcluke

Need to try and dig a win out here.

keenasmustard

It's rum.

Ridgeley

Well im still waiting to find out what the devil a Sailor Jerry is! Yvette do you know?
