We certainly deserve to skittle them - we had the worse of the conditions and well, I think we deserve the win! There is speculation on here I haven't commented on however having spent two weeks with the team, whilst they will be disappointed with this innings, morale has been great.

We're not down yet. Extremely disappointing to put it mildly but I do think we can still stay up. The toss in this match looks to have been so important.

Lancs will be in the relegation mix after these results, if we can win at their place who knows. We have had bad luck with the toss and decisions but the team selections have been baffling, we were doing fine until Colly came back halfway through last season, and three players ended up on bumper contracts. Possibly a coincidence but the team morale seemed to go down at about that point.

Agreed tomb. It's been a combination of various things. I'm still fairly hopeful we can win 3 from 6 but if the weather does not improve we will go down. I've been to at least part of ever CC home game this season and things did seem to conspire against us-opposition batsmen edging the ball between slip & keeper, edges not carrying except when we're batting etc! Those things happen to every team during a season but when so much time is lost to rain they can make a huge difference

It does have a feeling of inevitability about it, as if its not our year i'll give you that. But when your key players are all out of form or sidelined at the same time it spells trouble. Its a bit of a transition with some of the experienced players past their peak and younger players still developing. And the poor pitches make it hard for batsmen to get back into form.

Generally I would agree with that but this has been a very unusual season. We have not played well but I don't think we've been as bad as some of the stats suggest.

I do think it's time for a change but to be fair to Muchall batting has been a struggle for most players (not just Durham) all season and batting in the top3 must be particularly tough.

i was slagged off on here a few games ago when i dared suggest we try someone else as muchall simply isn't doing the business with the bat. we're on the verge of relegation here, time to make changes and give others a try. if we dont well.......

This is one of those games that had it finished last night and rained for two days, people would say we would have won it, but its very hard to pedict how the game will develop. Sussex 131-5 at the moment. As for Stokes, he's hardly had much opportunity to get out there and play, like most people! He is top of our first class batting averages too, almost 600 runs when we've had so many days lost to rain isn't too shabby!
