He looked excellent in his first outing, unfortunatly he was run out, just as he was settling in. Not the easiest conditions to start your batting career in but he's looked very promising and seems like a calm, level headed lad.

Was quite annoyed when he was dropped from the pro40's after top scoring to allow for Myburgh to come in and bowl spin. He could even play instead of Benks for me (in PRO40)and have Colly captain in all forms.

Would like to see Stoneman in the frame, but his form is relatively recent, however should be taken into account that he bats at the Riverside where runs are almost worth double sometimes. How will be England opener then? Root, Hales, Northeast? Or Trott moving up one? Shame Marchy, I'll suggest that for the 2013 version.

I have fond memories of me, my brother and cousin watching Durham lose in the Sunday league on a chilly September day then heading back to urs to play cricket captain with Melvyn Betts leading the attack. Not exactly the Hovis advert but it makes me misty eyed.

I think theres an element of randomness as on footy manager that they generate the stats but they vary a bit each time you load a new game. Plunkett was very good on cricket coach for me. Remember world cup cricket which was like a cricket version of Subbuteo?

I played cricket coach lasy year and found the stats much more extensive and realistic than cricket captain (admittedly its years since I last played that)though coach had no real match highlights and was too easy at times, a lot easier than captain.

Season 1,who did you have. on previous games the problem is people like onions career stats differ massively from their form over the last few years, as the games engine seemed to run off career stats I found the relative performances unrealistic at times especially for bowlers. Thorpy was also down as medium pace and always out of the automatic team picked by the computer.

40 seasons erm, how does that work. I take it test cricket has gone and its all 20-20 by then? Do the batsman play in jazzy gold and silver clothing? When I played Durham were the worst side so I shamefully picked Lancs as they had Atherton,a young Flintoff who didnt bowl, Fairbrother, Wasim Akram,Peter Martin, Fairbrother, Hegg, Crawley, some class overseas players in the championship then. That version you had to earn the International jobs.

Yvette, what chance is there of somebody commissioning a big painting or print of Durham legends,Benks, Davies, Thorp, Onions, Brown etc to go in the lounge or another prominent part of the ground, similar to the Emirates picture but a bit classier. They look great at Headingley, the oval, etc.

Seeing as Surrey have an Alistair Brown 268 bar as a tribute to the quick batting legend, can we not call our members lounge the Onions 9 for 80 lounge, we need more tributes for our players. Love the way Surrey have mementos of their past players everywhere, think we need to start adding a bit of history to our ground and facilities at Durham.

Was thinking that Onions is expected to perform whereas Rushworth has been the most improved player, and helped by conditions. Of course I vote purely on the LVCC games, dunno if some include the pro40 in their thinking. I would think he is Marchy, though he has missed some games for us.

I think you need to check your Maths Tristy, a defeat for us will pull us right back into the mire. We're currently 40 points ahead of both teams in the relegation battle but as both have a game in hand - could half that deficit if we lose this one.

I'd imagine Lancs will be eyeing up atleast 29 more runs because they'll have a batting point in sight. Durham shouldn't be interested in setting up a result. A defeat is too costly a risk when we don't 'need' the win as much as Lancashire do.
