sorry keyboard playing up! Durham are keen to sign Keaton Jennings to play for the first team-his mother is from Sunderland so he would qualify once he fulfills the ECB rules by spending a mimimum number of days in the country. He is apparently keen to play first class cricket for us.

It's supposed to be cloudy for most of the morrow so I doubt we're going to see any strokeplay at all during this game, day for bedding in and leaving anything that ain't going to hit the stumps

I suppose the umpires can't assume what's about to happen but, during th ebreak in innings yesterday afternoon it was obvious the rain was coming yet the fielders were all in place and the umpires waited until the Lancs openers came down the steps before stopping(or not starting) play.With the way things have been going I'm surprised we didn't lose a wicket in the half an over!

Without wanting to upset anyone at the ground hoping for more play I hope the rest of the day is rained off. We've got nothing to gain from any more play-and a lot to lose(prob about 6 wickets on current form :-) )

Only Colly really managed to knuckle down for us, batting can't have been easy though and it could be about to get a whole lot trickier-I haven't been to the ground today but my guess is if we start our 2nd innings this afternoon it will be in the worst batting conditions of the match.

Horton's the sort of player who always seems like he should have a better record than he does, has the ability to really knuckle down.

Finally we get some play. And with regards to KP, yes of course England should do the 'right thing' and drop a player who averages just shy of 50 in test cricket with a good four or five seasons left in the game. Probably should axe Bell as well.

He doesnt like playing ODI's apprently and there is a few scheduled over the summer before t20 wc. England wont get rid of him, there is nobody else like him to replace him.

When he first played for England in one dayers he used to make the hair stand up on my neck he was so exciting. Since then, not so good. The selectors should now do the sensible thing and drop him altogether. Would you want him at Durham if he moved his caravan on?

Can't do much about the rain so don't worry about it. What you can do is try and acquire another blotter which would speed up the restart on occasions. Whilst it might not affect the result of this game at the rate they're going down, it can affect other games. Or am I missing the point?
