@Trista, here's the even stranger thing. There is a rule where if you only go to the ground after the tea interval you only pay £5 so those 11 overs before tea were worth £7.50 if you paid £12.50

you pay 12.50 to go watch county cricket at the riverside. you get there at 11am, you have to wait until 3pm for play to start then 40 minutes later the umpires call tea. madness! no blame attached to durham or even the umpires but the laws are utter madness

and two - it's a nightmare for the catering staff anyway with the myriad of rules - nine down = late tea for maybe a minute, maybe 30 - etc. there's more than the players involved.

Just watched the highlights from yesterday, great knock from Stokes and Colly. Again though, the batting failures were obvious. 2 batsmen scored 171, yet the other 8 wickets/9 batsmen could only contribute 96. The game starting Wednesday is a must win now.
