to be honest Chris , i think we make batting look hard every game , 5 batting points from 7 games ? personally i dont think we are positive enough , just my opinion
Close of play
Durham 28-2, leading by 108, at the close of play on day two. Join us again tomorrow!
6:42pm
christoff
The point is you don't want to give them the chance of getting Stokes out at the end of the day
marchy22
the only good thing that comes from a nigh***chmen is if they can add 20+ runs the next morning and frustrate the bowlers when they are expecting a free wicket
christoff
So you are saying because we have a lead batting should be easier?
marchy22
isnt someone who is paid to bat less likely to get out that a bowler who isnt paid to bat
raydetmold
because instead of pushing home our advantage , we are now 2 down already with only 20 on the board
christoff
Would you rather risk losing Stokes?
marchy22
i dont agree with nigh***chmen
christoff
The run rate has been just over 2 all game why would you expect that to change at the end of the day?
via SMS
Brandonia: Night watchman in again. Not sure I agree with it (again).
marchy22
we are 100 in front but i still dont feel confident
raydetmold
we will always let teams back in the game because we will never be positive , leading by 80 , push home the advantage , no dot ball after dot ball till the wickets come , 2 runs an over with a lead like that , crazy
marchy22
oh dear we have let them right back in the game
Wicket...
Durham 20-2, Smith out lbw to Woakes for 7. 2.3 overs remain tonight.

100-1
marchy22
lets hope that last wicket stand for them doesnt come back to bite us, we could have had a lead of 130 now instead of 98
marchy22
doesnt surprise me the umpires are always against us
via SMS
Brandonia: The assorted media have questioned a few decisions from the umpires in this game......

Beautiful weather down at the ground.

christoff
Great effort lads just proving what most of us have said our poor start has been a dip in form and nothing else lets keep this going and get the win
marchy22
*brandy
marchy22
whats that brany a 250 lead overall or 250 allout and a lead of 330
marchy22
its not going to be the 170 lead with 1 wicket down that u wanted now its gonna be a tricky 10 overs cos of that last partnership, i reckon we will be 120 in front with 8 wickets in hand by the close
via SMS
Brandonia: 80 lead will do me nicely. I reckon 250 in the second innings wins it for us. Rain permitting and that like.
marchy22
well bowled rushy/steph, that means 4 brandy, 3 steph 2 for me and 1 for ridgeley
Tynevalleyblackcat
We lead by a useful 80. Now lets build on that.
via SMS
Chrissafc so happy for rushy
Tynevalleyblackcat
No because oddly enough, what I type on here or what underwear I chose to wear for that matter, has ZERO effect on what happens on the pitch. Its a novel concept I know, but true non the less!! PS - They are all out for less than 200!!
Wicket!
And that makes five for Rushworth! Warks dimissed for 197 - no batting points, we're keeping those for ourselves!

Tynevalleyblackcat

marchy22
20 runs for this last wicket so far, i blame TVBC for his over confidence when the 9th wicket fell

Brandonia: Aye. My fatha used to play over 40's here for the Rams Head!
poolynorm
Not much room for coffins etc.Built when there were no subs either.Bat first if possible.
marchy22
are you gonna get this wicket for ur 5fer or do u need someone else to come on now
via SMS
These two batsmen are living a charmed life. Loads of edges just missing or going over fielders.
via SMS
Brandonia: Aye, glorious weather at the Park. Changing rooms have seen better days like.
poolynorm
Seems my theory of no captain on the field has worked.Well done everyone.Brando remember to get forward tonight.Tends to keep low at the Park.

Tristan
see you all in the funny pages
Tristan
save that tactic for brandy then. im gonna have to run, keep plugging away for a bit but dont be afraid to throw the cherry to brandy, stephsafc or ridgeley, theyre all capable. i wont bowl, im gonna go have a quick net session in the hopes we get to bat soon!
marchy22
i dont have the greatest slower ball
Tristan
harmy & rushy in tandem is this then? soudns good
Tristan
try surprising them with a slower ball right into the pads, they'll be thinking about hooking and end up walking

Tristan
sounds good, you take the wickets and ill make inroads into extending our lead tonight. 3 slips and 2 gullys, though i do think we want to think about having a close leg side fielder, maybe ill stick teh helmet on and go short leg jsut to unsettle them a bit
Bowling change
Stephen Harmison returns - Warks 148-7 with 25 overs of the day remaining.
5:01pm
marchy22
i want them out in the next 10 overs

commentary has dropped out for me
Tristan
you're a real workhorse marchy
marchy22
that sounds fair, ill go full tilt for 20 more mins and see what damage i can do then its over to brandy
Tristan
i'd hazard a guess that he probably wont bowl but they must have hopes of him bowling again otherwise they would keep him off the field surely. not sure how long hes been off already, he may not be able to bowl legally anyway
via SMS
Is Harmy likely 2 bowl again this match? Tomb
via SMS
Harmison back on. Seems ok now.
Tristan
shall we say 1 for marchy, 2 for brandy, 2 for stephsafc and one for ridgeley then. clean up the tail marchy and we'll all pop in the pavillion for custard creams & tea?

marchy22
yeah good things have been happening but this partnership is getting on to much, u need to find a way of breaking it as captain
Tristan
with the exception of harmy being injured
Tristan
hey all, seems good things have been happening?
via SMS
Harmison off injured. Looks like he has pulled his hamstring. Innocuous looking fielding incident. Rami Singh fielding.
marchy22
thats irrelevant cos we wouldnt have enforced but we do need to break this partnership fast
Stan Drop
Follow-on saved then

chrissafc
aye nice bloke, seemed in a hurry but to his credit stopped for a chat and signed his book.
Stan Drop
He is very funny, but there is no-one on the planet who has done as much in cricket and therefore know s more about it than him. First class player and captain, umpire and coach of the England team. One of the greats.
marchy22
id say bumble is my favourite of the commentators on sky sports
chrissafc
on the subject of sky sports, met bumble on sunday after the game. what a character he is
marchy22
sky sports news are a disgrace, they have just 2 mins of news from the county cricket matches and showed just middlesx somerset clips, no one cares about the euros
via SMS
Brandonia: I'd settle for another 5 wicket session like!
marchy22
gifted them 14 runs
Noz
Hi all. Just logged on to lmc. Last score I saw was 56-0 so well chuffed. Hopefully we can knock the rest over and have a decent lead. In answer to Tristan yesterday, It's 29 degrees in Sidari and will be until I get home!! :)
marchy22
dont understand bringing borthwick on when we were so close to tea would have just kept harmy and rushy on
Tea
Tea time here - Warks 115-5 - back soon!
3:53pm

Are Durham appealing against penalty on Saturday? Time was wasted every over by batsmen walking away and/or getting fingers mended.
marchy22
chris rogers in the runs again, he is someone id like to see at durham

how many overs left today
marchy22
id say we would have to bat 15-20 overs ourselves tonight
Stan Drop
Easy Yvette! we still need another 16 wickets before you can use that one ;-)
tomb
Shame, will be hard to win it then unless we get a good first innings lead
chrissafc
batting conditions were difficult yesterday, hence why i think we batted well and sensibly once we were 2 down
BrianT
Bet they aren't feeling confident about batting now.
marchy22
no chance of much play if any over next 2 days
stephsafc
i kno this is late, but get in rushy
marchy22
we need one of these early, ambrose is averaging 50 and clarke 84 this season

We've won according to the graphic!

I used to do the great north run with two broken legs and a severed head, it didnt put me off. I think I was cursing Harmy that day as i'd booked the full day off work.
marchy22
i remember that one, im sure we won it just before rain set in
BrianT
radio warks just been talking about it. also talking about his injuries last year including a broken arm and spinal ligament. sounds a bit of a softy really.

Two new batsmen. Come on, 100-5
Bowling update
Chris Rushworth returns with Warks 78-3 after 34 overs.
3:15pm

Anyone remember a game against these where Harmy skittled them out early on the morning, think he got 7 wickets, maybe they are still scared of him!
christoff
My request for wickets has worked well!!
chrissafc
keep it going lads, another point on the board
tomb
Get them all out today, and then see if the weather behaves itself
stephsafc
Weey Get in Lads!!!!

Well done Harmy!

BrianT
Bugger, harmy again.
Stan Drop
Another one for Colly! He's getting on for 250 f/c catches now.
Mark
Definitely, we are heading in the right direction.
BrianT
There seems to be a bit of calmness and confidence about our play lately.
Mark
Is Harmy bowling quickly?
Mark
This is why I thought our tempo was fine yesterday afternoon, very risky on this pitch to try and score freely.
via SMS
Batsman skied it and it landed just short of rushworth.
via SMS
50 overs left today. Nearly another wicket.
BrianT
Estimate 36 after tea which will be at normal time.
Mark
Brilliant! Well done Ben.

How many overs left according to our scoreboard? might come along later as its livening up.

Good delivery? How out?
chrissafc
good team these, we just need to stick in.
BrianT
Disappointing! Harmy gets a wicket.

Warwickshire reach fifty in the 28th over - Westwood 33* and Chopra 16*.
2:44pm
tomb
England can wait, he'd be better off playing for us for a few years (wishful thinking maybe....)
chrissafc
he's also only 21 years old
christoff
and England very shortly!
chrissafc
stokes batted very well yesterday. he got stuck in, showed a different side to his batting.
tomb
We should remember he has also had a horrendous injury to his hand, his fingers are still a bit of a mess, so maybe he cant bowl 100 per cent. Love watching him bat.
BrianT
He would be a fixture in any other club in the country.
Mark
He batted very well yesterday, showed that he can play tough, gritty innings when required.
christoff
From what I have seen of him this season he has improved from last and has the ability to be the 4th seamer
tomb
He's not really a front line bowler, he would get in the team for his batting alone, he is a useful bowling option who breaks up a few partnerships. He should really be the 5th bowling option.
via SMS
Stokes 10 runs are from a 4 through slips, I thick edge past gully for 2 and a four driven through offside, only one loose ball bowled.

Warks 45-0 from 24.5 overs...

Thank you Stan Drop a bit of common sense
Stan Drop
Ben Stokes 3.1.10.0 Perfectly respectable.
marchy22
his economy rate is 3.96 for the whole season, is that what u want from from one of ur supposed front line bowlers
christoff
Marchys not there
BrianT
I'm not there so I'll take Marchy's word.
christoff
he has only conceded 10 runs!!
christoff
except his economy rate is 3.33 and how do you know they did not come from an edge through slips??
marchy22
stokes economy rate is always above four an over, not good enough especially in these conditions
BrianT
Is he bowling to a defensive field and misdirecting his bowling?
marchy22
stokes giving them free runs as usual
via SMS
It's amazing how a little bit luck can help change a game, we just need bit to get us started.
chrissafc
richardson and jennings hitting runs again. time they were given a chance
marchy22
really thought we would be into them by now
marchy22
jennings seems a very exciting prospect

So one of those bonny lads might get a chance?

Rushy bowling well without any luck, batsmen played and missed a few times and a couple of leg before shouts.
BrianT
A few good appeals. I was going to ask Marchy if it was moving about a bit but you've answered my question.
via SMS
Rushworth bowling really well. Ball moving around quite a bit.
Mark
It would be just typical if Onions doesn't play again tomorrow. No doubt he will also be picked for the England Lions games and Stokes will probably go with him.
marchy22
looking extremely toothless without onions
Mark
Yes, he is looking more like his old self.
tomb
Colly is at least applying himself at the wicket, some of his old shots are coming out again. Not sure why he is at 6, surely he is esxperienced enough to bat higher up the order, could move Muchall to 6
BrianT
Agreed and maybe harmy will show his worth soon. I hope so.
chrissafc
colly has been batting well recently. played well yesterday, sensible batting.
marchy22
are we close to getting a wicket
BrianT
Anyway if Harmy is the new anti-Christ it takes the pressure off Colly.
tomb
Yes indeed. Phil in Austins is looking for sponsers for his charity golf game if anyones interested.
marchy22
very true mark, everyone would have a different bowling line up with only onions definitely going to be in everyones
chrissafc
i still dont understand how a player can be injured yet host their own golf day and take part in it. mystery to me that
Mark
I definitely wouldn't pick him just because he is a high earner. He is under pressure but I just have a feeling he has more to offer. If he struggles this afternoon I might change my mind! However I do understand why it's difficult to pick a seam attack because a lot of us on here would have different combinations.
tomb
Anyway, to the lads who have been picked, best of luck. Come on Durham!
marchy22
we need a wicket please
tomb
At least Claydon and Brathwaite make themselves available for every game.
chrissafc
he wouldn't be an automatic choice in the 2nd xi for me but as he's reportedly one of the higher earners at the club, i guess some people may think he has to play purely because of that.
tomb
Harmisons bowling spell late on Saturday was absolutley pathetic and cost us the game. Anyone can bowl a few bad overs but his body language was poor, undid all the good work of Onions and Harrison. he is an all time Durham great, but on current form he should have to compete with the other bowlers for a spot
Mark
So by automatic choice I mean in the near-future. I agree he can't go on much longer because of his past reputation but he still needs a chance to prove he is still a force. Ideally he would have had more bowling in the seconds but the rain prevented him doing so.
chrissafc
personally disagree. i think others are far more deserving of a place in the 1st xi. claydon, thorp, brathwaite.
Mark
My feeling about Harmison is there's no point in him playing in the 2nd X1 so we can't just drop him after a couple of games. If he struggles badly then it might be time to make a final decision on him but I'd give him at least the first 2 CC games after the t20 break.
chrissafc
Ruel is a canny lad, time for everyone
tomb
I would think 23, 24?
chrissafc
harmison has done nothing to be an "automatic choice" - was he even taking wickets for the 2ndxi?
Update
We're back on after lunch - Warks resume on 7-0.
1:29pm
tomb
Harrison as stand in for Onions when called up. We have plenty of bowlers which creates selection problems admittedly.
BrianT
Ruel was sitting in front of me at the Scotland game. Seems very pleasant and cheerful. How old was Graeme Onions before he became a regular for Durham?
Mark
Difficult to juggle the bowling attack especially as the batsmen have been short of runs. Harmison should be an automatic choice provided he bowls well and no point ditching him after a couple of comeback games, Harrison has come in and done brilliantly and Claydon & Brathwaite can be expensive.
chrissafc
probably not picked because they aren't earning a fortune like some?
tomb
Never said the bowlers had to be dropped. People were hoping for the batting order to be freshened up. Onions and Thorp would be automatic picks for me, personally I would have Claydon and Brathwaite in as well. Harrison shows plenty of promise.
BrianT
But then you keep saying we're bottom of the league and things have to change. Go along tonight to the members' meeting and ask why they're not picked. Turn your mic down Marty.

And also Claydon had a fairly decent start to the season and has found himself out the first team.
tomb
Feel sorry for Ruel, dont know what he has done wrong
brandonia
Any update on the prospects of play Yvette? Are the covers off?
marchy22
Thorpe would ideal today and can't believe how far brathwaite has fallen down the order
tomb
Why isnt Thorp in our first team, is it because his contract is up soon?
chrissafc
especially thorp
chrissafc
yeah the bowlers, some of who should be in the 1st xi. further stakes their claim for a game
BrianT
That would be the bowlers?
CollingwoodFTM
A dissapointing morning. We'll only find out how good \ bad our score is after their innings.
chrissafc
good to see the usual suspects taking wickets.
brandonia
Do you know if Turner is playing for Notts Yvette? This rain might just be what the doctor ordered for our seamers!
2XI latest
2XI: Notts post 112-8 off 20 overs. Claydon 2-28, Brathwaite 2-19, Buckley 1-8, Plunkett 1-24, Thorp 2-17.

marchy22
We won't get a wicket before lunch
christoff
Is there plenty of playing and missing going on or are they just defending? excellent point tomb!
tomb
In terms of fixtures the second half of the season looks easier on paper for us. We still have to pay Sussex and Worcestershire twice and Surry, all struggling teams. We dont have to play Warks or Somerset again
marchy22
Nothing happening for me. Time for a change captain
Update
Warks 3-0 after 3 overs...Harrison and Rushworth are the attack.
12:19pm
Mark
Surrey 5 down now.
Tristan
bye all, best of luck. in your hands pooly
Tristan
showing great faith in harrison, good to see youth being given the chance to shine, hope he continues to impress
BrianT
Didn't mean to post that, I was thinking out loud.
Tristan
right ive got to be off all. heres hoping next time i check it marchy & brandy have taken a few wickets each. haway the lads!
Warks first innings begins
Warwickshire's first innings begins - Jamie Harrison opens the Durham attack!

BrianT
Suggest we copy Maddy's tactics of bowling far wide of off stump with 8 fielders on the off side. We could bore them out.
brandonia
Dissappointing first session so far but I'm hoping that batting is near impossible and that Warks are 31-5 at Lunch.
Tristan
i wont settle for anything less that 11 wicket sin his first three balls tbh, im a real hard taskmaster mind
tomb
His county form has not been great, done a very good job in the 40 over stuff. Wouldnt have picked him personally for this, but hope he goes well.
safcluke
Can we promise that if Rushy doesn't take 10 wickets in his first 3 overs we wont brand him rubbish and not worth of a place in the team like last time?
BrianT
I've got Radio Essex commentary with The Durham one. Can't switch one off without the other. Years of practice listening to wife and telly has trained me to filter out the Essex sound.
christoff
Somerset 155/8 Lancs 64/2 Surrey 32/4

oh aye ridgey, hard to remember everyone with the field spread so wide
poolynorm
Might be a good idea to give Ridgey a bowl if Christoff's right.
Tynevalleyblackcat
Over to the bowlers.
christoff
Rushy and Harra to open?
christoff
Not a bad effort, lets get amongst them ideal swing conditions!!
poolynorm
You've got some apologising to do Marchy!! 3 wkts before bait.Whereabouts down the Cleveland Riviera are you Brando.Heard HT got in the WL last night.
Tristan
marchy youre on new bal duties, brandy first change, with stephsafc, standrop and myself to bowl on top, am i forgetting anyone?

Quite humid at the ground. Ideal bowling conditions.
Tristan
lets hope we can geth them a few wickets down before lunch
Durham post 277
Durham post a first innings total of 277 after Rushworth is caught off Woakes for 1.

Damn, only 2 batting points after all that!
poolynorm
He watches too many Blaydon games.
Tristan
sorry, stephsafc to come
Tristan
marchy goes for 5 trying to smash the ball into the statosphere, MBH to come
BrianT
Another crazy shot?
Wicket...
Durham 277-9 after Mustard is caught off Barker for 25.

poolynorm
I'll do my best Tristy.Wise choice not to burden Marchy with the captaincy.Brando has the potential to be a leader but needs a bit more guidance at the Fenns Academy.Hexham Panther could be a wise choice. He likes to get around all the grounds.
christoff
keep them no balls coming, 2 this over so far
Tynevalleyblackcat
Be nice if we could scrape 300 here as I fancy our bowlers to do some damage in these conditions.
brandonia
If the Colonel can make a 50 we'll be laughing here.
chrissafc
300 would be nice lads
Tristan
brandonia departs for 42, well batted mate
Wicket...
Scott Borthwick is caught off Barker for 15. Durham 272-8 as Rushworth joins Mustard.
11:53am
Tristan
pooly mate jsut in time, im going to be leaving fairly shortly, i know you reitered captaincy but someone is goign to have to organise the field and sort the bowling change, i have a tricky choice between leaving brandy or marchy in charge unless you want to?
Tristan
will probably be using you fairly heavily, in tandem with brandy.
poolynorm
Morning guys and dolls.Ill timed entry, sorry Brando.
marchy22
How many overs u wanting me to bowl tristan
Tristan
only just realised i could have had the commentary on for the last hour. got to leave soon :(
tomb
Bowl them out for 150, stick them in again, bowl them out for 140, job done!
christoff
16 off that over, these two are going at more than 6 an over great stuff
Tristan
bit of cloud but plenty of blue sky too, here in kent
Tynevalleyblackcat
I am at Doxy Park and we have just had a heavy shower and it now drizzle.
BrianT
Not raining at all in Millfield.
Tristan
brandy quickly up to 30*, dont take too many risks here pal, but bonus points are a factor, would be nice to get up to 300 before any stoppages in play
Tynevalleyblackcat
Raining heavily in Sunderland now.
Tristan
that does look a strong line up for the 2nds. always a concern how quickly the top order turn into all rounders though, we need somemore young batsmen coming through the system. high hopes for jennings, raine, richardson & wood, not sure who this clark fella is?
chrissafc
keep it going lads

Sunny on the coast if that's where the weather is coming from.

Hows the weather in West Cornforth?
Tristan
drags us that bit closer to surrey. still a big gap mind. haway durham lads. we need a win here!!
brandonia
Drizzle in Hartlepool.
tomb
Starting to cloud over again in Durham. Would happily settle for 300-320 Troughtons illustrated book of the county season is worth looking at in the Warwickshire club shop.
brandonia
Well done lads, 250 up. Let's get to 300. That could be a great total in these conditions!
BrianT
He was a good doctor though and an outstanding Quilp.
christoff
a nice 12 off the over brings us our 2nd batting point
marchy22
Pouring down in Blaydon
tomb
Troughton is one of the eorst batsmen I have seen in the County Championship, his leadership qualities may be a loss possibly.
Tristan
great start brandy, show us your all round capabilities here
BrianT
Yes but they are financially re-imbursed for the absence of the first two and can plan accordingly and sign replacements eg Clarke. Pinching Onions without central contract does not give Durham the same advantage of planning ahead.
christoff
two fours in two balls for Mustard, keep it going lads
christoff
Warks are weaker without Bell, Trott and Troughton!!
Tristan
aye of course we are weaker without onions, and thats a good point tomb
tomb
Reversed not reserved
tomb
In the lads defence, we were unfortunate to lose that Lancashire game on Saturday, two big decisions went against us, and if those had been reserved we would have won the game and been a few places up the table. The run out was clear cut and not given. One of the most exciting sessions I have seen here.
marchy22
Somerset 4-4 this morning. Rushworth deserves his chance but any attack is going to be weaker without onions
chrissafc
i've got every faith in rushy and harrison, they are in the squad rightfully on merit. i can't say the same for harmison though
christoff
I think these two will put a few on, Scotty is due a score
Tristan
no i wouldnt declare so early in the match, jsut saying i woudl be confident defending a small total as i have faith in our attack
Tristan
rushy deserves his spot, the way i always think of it is if they can get us out cheaply we can do even better!
BrianT
Would you declare at 250 though Tristan?
tomb
Bit worried about our bowling attack now without Onions. Would have loved Thorp to open the bowling today, never mind. Wish I was there.
marchy22
2-2 this morning very disappointing can we get to 250
Tristan
i agree standrop, as i said yesterday, just dont believe in them
Tristan
to be honest i would take 250 all out if it means getting them in and out quickly
Stan Drop
Don't say you weren't warned. Watchmen of the night are basically gift wickets.
BrianT
Brando: Colonel tried that last Friday with disastrous consequences.Screw every run and every minute out of this game. Make them chase.
Wicket...
Harrison is caught off Barker without scoring. Durham 230-7 as Borthwick joins Mustard.
11:14am
Tristan
mustard, borthwick, harmison & rushy to come iirc?
brandonia
I wonder now if it's worth playing some shots in a bid to get up to 300 before we get shot out?
Tristan
thats standrop gone for 11, sadly i didnt scribble down the order. next man in will be tomb, followed brandy, marchy, mbh & stephsafc
chrissafc
shame for colly, he batted very well yesterday
marchy22
The worst start possible we need another 67 ball century from mustard
Tristan
not the bst start. still mustard can come in and get eh run rate up at least! maiden half century for harrison here would be most welcome
tomb
Yeah, I've been ***** for mentioning the watchman (night)before, guess the moderator isnt a fan of that tactic. Oh drat, Collys out, sigh
Six down...
Colly is out lbw to Woakes on 43. Durham 228-6.
11:02am
myboyharry
On my way down now. Hopefully the lads can build on yesterday.
Day two begins!
Play begins on day two as Durham resume on 228-5, Colly 43* and Harrison 0*.
10:59am
Stan Drop
Hell Tristan! You know that I don't like coming in as watchman of the night (to avoid the **** if I wrote ****). I don't really believe in them, like fairies, and have you forgotten how I ran out Colly in the Lancs game?. Well I will give it my best shot, no shots, but I doubt if I can do anything about the run rate. I'll leave that to the guy at the other end and run like the clappers. Hawaay the lads!
christoff
4.5 per over to get 4 batting points will be a tough ask probs 3 is more realistic
Mark
10 points would be a decent return. Just have to keep an eye on the over rate! Although I do think it was ridiculous to be docked points against Lancs, that over rate rule needs looking at.
Tristan
same thing against middlesex, we would have romped to that win had it not been for the weather
tomb
It certainly would be, however if we can get 3-4 batting points (probly not enough time for 5)3 bowling points and a draw, thats ten points, not a bad return. I agree, I think our performance was good yesterday, the batsman applied themselves and showed a good attitude despite the interruptions.
Mark
Wouldn't it be infuriating tom if the one time we've battled hard for a good first innings score ends up as a rain ruined draw. Impression I got yesterday was that our current score is a good one.
Tristan
events, sporting or otherwise, are generally ridiculously expensive, i think by camparison to most things, the ashes test is priced very reasonable.
salmon
Thanks Tristan, maybe it was the wet glasses. We have ordered and paid for our Ashes tickets, 2 for 4 days @ £75 each plus b00king fee.
tomb
I'm going to miss most of the rest of this one, back to back weeks of cricket make it hard for me to get time off work. I hope to pop over Thursday but forecast is rubbish.
Mark
probably be at*
Mark
I'll probably at the forum provided the rain stays away this afternoon-heading down to the ground after lunch.
tomb
The ashes prices are ridiculous but if you get a full day of good weather its possibly worth it. If you get a stop start day with limited action its extremley expensive bearing in mind the average wage round here. Anyone going to the forum tonight? Chance to ask Geoff a few questions ot his face instead of us posting our views on here to each other.
Tristan
sorry to hear that salmon. hope you get patched up, we may need you in the field before long
salmon
Morning all, cant make today ,off to the Docs, think i caught pneumonia yesterday.hope you keep us all up to date.Raining in Northumberland

To quote a fantastic philosopher and poet - "Rain, rain, stay away. Come again another day!!"

Yeah the suns out slightly in Wheatley Hill,Haway Durham lads

would love to catch a match against south africa but dont think its going to be possible
Tristan
my mate was in australia for the whitewash, luckily he hadnt gone just for the cricket! got to a couple of days and saw england bat for one session and oz pilig on runs for fun
stephsafc
I've got a ticket to come to the 1 dayer in July this year. The rest of the games I'll have to see if I can get the time off work before I buy the tickets... although I'd love to be on the sick forever lol
brandonia
The sun is out in Hartlepool!!!!! Albeit surrounded by cloud.
christoff
It could be worse for them to come all the way from oz and get hammered!
Tristan
good good marchy, the last thing i want to do is upset lmc's premier pace bowler
Tristan
still could be worse, you could come all teh way from australia only to have it rained off!
marchy22
No you haven't upset me tristan. I love the darts but agree some of the crowds have been terrible towards the players off late
Tristan
aye its horrendous to think that me and the lass, we bought our tickets for all 4 days when they came out, shelling out for somewhere to stay for the week, travelling to teh other end of the country and it could just hammer it down all week.
brandonia
Until next series when they return to the show with a new dilemma!
stephsafc
Sound like they r from London. Gone off together into the sunset hand in hand lol
brandonia
Where are the happy couple from? On the subject of Ashes Tickets - I've bought one for myself and one for my old man and whilst it is a steep price I don't have any complaints. Its a full day of entertainment. Providing it doesn't rain!
Tristan
ahhhh how sweet!
stephsafc
Oh my Goodness she said yes!
Tristan
hello btw marchy, hope i havent upset you by besmirching the good name of arrows
Tristan
i think i must have spelt that wrong, not sure solut is a swear word is it??
Tristan
i used to love watching the darts. cant watch that sky premierleague nonsense though, the crowds booing competing dartsmen during their throws ab***ely disgusted me
Tristan
just heard they have invented urinals that can you can play music on depending on where you pee. how long till we can have them at chesterle street please? perhaps in time for the ashes??
marchy22
I think 80 for an ashes ticket is great value. I have paid 55 for the darts final in blackpool at the end of July and that will last an hour at best
stephsafc
And yes, she's 6 months gone lol
Tristan
smooth
stephsafc
Nah, not his cousin, just a doped up bloke accused of cheating on his pregnant girlfriend. And he thinks the solution is to propose ha.
Tristan
even money theyre already pregnanat. probably with the brother of the bloke proposing or some such...
stephsafc
Not sure, it just showed the clip of him proposing. I'll let you know the craic after the adverts lol
Tristan
is it to their cousin?
stephsafc
Ha, after the break someone is going to propose on The Jeremy Kyle show. How romantic....
stephsafc
Jezza first Chris, then dishes, then ironing lol
chrissafc
get the ironing done first :)
stephsafc
Just following on LMC today. Think its going to be a stop start day. Hopefully Durham can get to 300.
Tristan
*obviously yvette is in charge really!
Tristan
im going to have to be elsewhere by about 12 so hopefully ill get to follow the first hour but then im going to have to leave you guys in charge
chrissafc
hopefully 11am start. collingwood looked in good nick yesterday
christoff
Morning all. Back to work today so can't be at the ground today :-( lmc is a good substitute though - hope we can continue the good efforts of yesterday and build a big score - Howay the lads!
Tristan
anyway, onto the cricket! lets hope for pelnty of play, plenty or runs and early inroads into the warks batsmen
brandonia
Brandonia: No complaints from me Tristy. I was wrong and I feel I need to apologise and clear the air. Just a shame it couldn't all fit in one text! Ha ha.
Tristan
i forget who made the gordon teh gopher comment but i thought it was fairly obviously tongue in cheek, i bet muchy got called that in the play ground plenty of times!
Tristan
well put brandy, cant say i think its fair that you got singled out mind, dont see anything wrong with your posts, dont think there is many that want to see dccc success than you, perhaps except the players!
chrissafc
my brother paid around £30 in our money for a seat for the boxing day test last year aus vs india at the MCG. the ashes will be a superb event for durham ccc and i hope the club make a fortune out of it which will help the club progress.

personally i think £80 is expensive. i'm happy paying £55 for july 7th 1 dayer but £80 a day is extreme money. for me and the other half to go to 4 days it would be £640.
CollingwoodFTM
Good luck to the lads today. Let's build on yesterday's hard graft. £80 for an Ashes ticket is obscene. The players will only waste it on rubbish hair dos and carp tattoos.
Tristan
its a full days play [hopefully!] you can spend a similar amount seeing a pop star perform for 45 minutes or 40/50 ish quid seeing 90 minutes of football
Tristan
am i the only one who thinks 80 quid is fair enough for an ashes test?
billimac
Saw the price of Ashes tickets yesterday (£80; isn't it time we said enough is enough!! Is professional sport protected from austerity?

Providing there is no more rain we should be starting on time this morning!
