He's not really a front line bowler, he would get in the team for his batting alone, he is a useful bowling option who breaks up a few partnerships. He should really be the 5th bowling option.

I definitely wouldn't pick him just because he is a high earner. He is under pressure but I just have a feeling he has more to offer. If he struggles this afternoon I might change my mind! However I do understand why it's difficult to pick a seam attack because a lot of us on here would have different combinations.

So by automatic choice I mean in the near-future. I agree he can't go on much longer because of his past reputation but he still needs a chance to prove he is still a force. Ideally he would have had more bowling in the seconds but the rain prevented him doing so.

My feeling about Harmison is there's no point in him playing in the 2nd X1 so we can't just drop him after a couple of games. If he struggles badly then it might be time to make a final decision on him but I'd give him at least the first 2 CC games after the t20 break.

In the lads defence, we were unfortunate to lose that Lancashire game on Saturday, two big decisions went against us, and if those had been reserved we would have won the game and been a few places up the table. The run out was clear cut and not given. One of the most exciting sessions I have seen here.

10 points would be a decent return. Just have to keep an eye on the over rate! Although I do think it was ridiculous to be docked points against Lancs, that over rate rule needs looking at.

It certainly would be, however if we can get 3-4 batting points (probly not enough time for 5)3 bowling points and a draw, thats ten points, not a bad return. I agree, I think our performance was good yesterday, the batsman applied themselves and showed a good attitude despite the interruptions.

my brother paid around £30 in our money for a seat for the boxing day test last year aus vs india at the MCG. the ashes will be a superb event for durham ccc and i hope the club make a fortune out of it which will help the club progress.
