Ridgeley:

;-)

Stan Drop:

Great fun! Thanks for keeping it open Yvette. Above all, well done all of our players for a very entertaining season and come back rested and refreshed to go even better next year,

Mark:

Hope we have players in the winter squads and they do well and come back fit and ready to go. You have a good winter too Steph see u next year

stephsafc:

Have a good winter everyone. I'll be back next year :)

Mark:

Same to you, enjoy the break. Annoying that Lancs won but hopefully next year it will be ours

via SMS:

Chrissafc big cheer from the worcs fans here. Well done lancs. Enjoyed the craic in here. Have a good break

Mark:

Game over at the Rose Bowl so it is Lancashire's title

Stan Drop:

No hat-trick for Metters.

Mark:

Have to say I'm very surprised Hampshire didn't try and set up a chase for Warwickshire, far too late now but they could have had a thrash after tea and then declared. It wouldn't matter if they lost and there's an excellent chance they would have won because Warwickshire would have had no option but to go for the runs

Stan Drop:

At this rate Lancs will only need another 5 overs.

Mark:

2 in 2

Stan Drop:

Hants lose another wicket but only 3/4 hour and 15 overs left. cant lose now.

Mark:

138 lead for Hampshire and 16 overs left. I know it's not T20 so no field restrictions but why don't Hampshire declare? Warwickshire would have to go for the runs

durham_andy:

Just got in to see the scores. Looks like Lancs are going to win the title. They're hopeless!

myboyharry:

Lancashire walking it. Might as well stop the OT redevelopment now :-)

Stan Drop:

Lancs upping the run rate, last 10 overs @.8.7, but wait! thy've just lost Horton and Moore on 135. Couldn't be tenser!

Mark:

Bit of a wobble by Lancs, 2 quick wickets but they should still win

Mark:

Definitely, they lost home and away to us and so did Warwickshire.Amazing to have a 4-0 record against the two teams who will finish above us

darlostu:

If Lancs do win the title, is there some comfort in that they couldn't beat us?

Mark:

It's funny because it's true!

myboyharry:

Joke doing the CC rounds - who will be the Lancashire player of the year - the groundsman or the ECB pitch inspector....

Stan Drop:

If both matches are drawn Warks finishes with 235 points Lancs with 233 and us with 232. If Lancs implodes and loses (unlikely, they are now 101/0 then we get up to runner-up

Mark:

I don't want Lancashire to win but looks as if they will

myboyharry:

Is there any situation where neither of them win :-)

christoff:

Hants won't declare for too contraversial if they were to lose

Mark:

Hampshire lead by 106, 27 overs left. If i was a Hampshire fan I'd be looking to declare at some stage and try to finish the season with a win. Warwickshire would have to rey and get the runs so an excellent chance Hants could finish the season with a win and it wouldn't matter to them if they lost

christoff:

Thats effectiveley what its come down to, a 37 over smash for the title

Stan Drop:

Blimey! Lancs scoring at 6.9 an over. They're treating it like a T20 and good luck to them.

Mark:

Unfortunately

christoff:

Lancs looking favorites now!!!

darlostu:

I'd settle for one of them - as would Emirates I'm sure

Mark:

Treble next year stu, no probs!

darlostu:

Enjoyed the chat on LMC, thanks for the entertainment. Good to end with a win, 3rd in LV, Q/F in T20, & S/F in CB40 - not too bad an outcome. Some silverware next year?

Mark:

I don't think Hants will do it, just a possibility

Mark:

Hampshire might declare at some stage in the last session and set a chase, they have nothing to lose. That wouldn't please Lancashire because any target would presumably favour Warwickshire with not many overs left.

christoff:

Lancs 178 required from 32 overs (5.5 per over) for title unless warks can get 5 quick wickets, exciting finish in prospect

BrianT:

Have enjoyed this season probably more than any other. Probably because of LMC instead of teletext. However, it's cost me a fortune in lost income. Must do some work now. Also thanks Yvette for your patience and good humour.

Mark:

I'm sure we'll be OK Brian, whether any of our players who are on the tours get safely through it is another matter!

CollingwoodFTM:

When are the pre season game dates out?

Mark:

36(effectively 34 with 2 taken off for the change of innings) at the Rose Bowl. I wonder if there could be another twist and Hampshire somehow manage to set a target? Unlikely since the lead is under 90 but, they have nothing to lose and might just set something up. That really would annoy Lancs-suppose they beat Somerset and then Warwickshire are set something

BrianT:

Standing ovation for the lads at end of game. Well done. Don't wish your lives away longing for next April. The PA said it all when he said he hoped we'd all get safely through the winter ( or something similar). Cheery soul.

Mark:

Yes it would! It's going to be interesting because, ironically apart from the first knock at Taunton, Lancashire's batting has been poor this season

Stan Drop:

Unless they get among the wickets. That would be sweet revenge!

Mark:

Warwickshire just taken another wicket, Hampshire lead by 86 with 5 wickets left

Mark:

There's around 30 overs for Lancs to get the runs. Don't think Somerset will bowl any more than they have to because they're still angry with the way Lancs folded on the last day last season to hand the title to Notts

CollingwoodFTM:

What odds on a Somerset win?

Stan Drop:

Somerset all out. Lancs need 211 to win. Not sure how many overs

Stan Drop:

Somerset 200 ahead! Time for a declaration, some demon bowling from Karthik, Trego and Kirby. Lancs skittled for 130. We are runners-up. Simples! Trego just out for 120.

christoff:

agreed, and Lancs will feel worse they had S/Set 130-7 they are now 282-8 ouch

Stan Drop:

Christoff, yes its frustrating to fall so close, but (a) what other sports competition over a season goes down to the lastr day with the top 3 within 4 points of each other, and (b) fair do's, both L &W will still have one more win than us.have

Stan Drop:

Nah!. McKenzie, Vince and Mascarenhas can all bat well enough to hang around. I reckon Somerset have already got too many for Lancs to win - 177 ahead with two wickets left

Stan Drop:

Nelson!

christoff:

having said that Carberry has just gone, Hants will probably fold now

christoff:

Warks and Lancs looking more like draws, which means we could finish only 4 points short of regaining the title aaaarrrrrgggggghhhhhhh!!!!!

christoff:

Warks and Lancs looking more like draws, which means we could finish only 4 points short of regaining the title aaaarrrrrgggggghhhhhhh!!!!!

SuperBenks:

Maybe next year then? A good season overall and an improvement on last year. Stokes & Scott a bit more experienced, Brath & Wood fighting for places and the return all season of Colly. Plenty of reasons to be cheerful.

via SMS:

Brandonia: I just want to say I love you all and I'm going to miss you. Summer 2012 can't come fast enough. Its been emotional x x x

Stan Drop:

Just back from lunch seems all over but Hants and Somerset still fighting. Yvette can you keep LMC open until their espective fat ladies have sung please? If not, so be it my glass is still half full (but not of mint Bailey's). Thanks for all your work on this facility and see you and the chatters next season.

1:09pm

poolynorm:

Cheers bryn.Feeling's mutual.Just checked with the icey.He says I owe you nothing,.nothing at all.All the best Colly.

CollingwoodFTM:

Off to a meeting at 1300, so I doubt this game will still be on by the time I am back. I hope you all winter well. Is this our 4th best finish in the CC?

bryn:

this is gonna be finished waaay before me,have a good winter chatters (if thats possible) an i'll catch yers in april for more fun+frolics!

stuartp:

Well Somerset 8 down as well, Hants still only 3 down. So Thank you ECB for taking 3 of our key players out for a crucial match at the critical part of the season, at a point when we were already impacted by injuries. On a positive note, if the fat lady is warming up at durham, she is gargling ready for the warm up in Taunton, and having a nap at the rose bowl. LVCC to Lancs for the first time in nearly 90 years by the look of things.

poolynorm:

Still down Crimdon Dene way brando? Good chippy at Blackhall for the morra.

poolynorm:

Enjoy your last last supper Yvette.

Lunch

Lunch time here and Worcester are 185-8 with Jones and Roach yet to score. Back soon!

12:32pm

And eight....

Stoneman catches Scott off Borthwick for 15. Worcs 185-8.

12:27pm

Seven down!

Seven wickets down now! Pardoe caught by Diva off Blackwell for 27. Worcs 179-7.

12:22pm

stephsafc:

7 down :)

BrianT:

I agree with you Stan. Only regret was that we didn't use Scott more. But then again I've said many times I know nowt about proper cricket.

Stan Drop:

Looks as if this might be all over before I get back from lunch so just like to say cheerio and thanks for all the fish. As an overseas fan LMC is my lifeline - the only day I got to the ground this season was the second day of the hants game - completely rained off. More Boo Hoo than Woo Hoo. Our highest expectations were not met, but hey! Third in CC (at least), semi-finals of CB40, two new home grown international debuts - most counties would take that and so do I. Well done lads!!

BrianT:

Don't think warks will win. Poetic justice for their performance on Monday and Tuesday. The way Lanc have played this game they deserve to win it. (Game not LVCC)

christoff:

still think the will both win making warks champions, but you never know

Stan Drop:

Hants and Somerset still trying to poop Lancs' and Warks' parties. Somerset 77 ahead with 3 wickest left and Hants seven behind with 7 wkts lesft.

bryn:

i'll let the icey know norm! fabs all round, lets go out in style! :oD

Six down!

Another wicket for Blackwell - Andrew is bowled on 15. Worcs 154-6.

12:06pm

stephsafc:

Wicket

poolynorm:

Talking of mb's bryn I received a spam today offering me free biscotti baileys for two.Talking of Shaq's protest reminds of the old tables we learnt at school. One chain =22 yards=cricket pitch.I'll have a fab today.Tell the icey I'll settle up the next time he's up our street.

bryn:

gonna head down after work the game will probs be over then but it'll be worth it to witness shaqs protest! mb's all round!

poolynorm:

Cheers Brando,Might have to part with my AXA League yellow and blue top,Circa late 90's? Hoping the club shop has the EWCC' we are the champions' triple dvd in stock by xmas.

Five down!

11:20am

via SMS:

Brandonia: He got me a Notts on eNorm but I think all his Durham ones were long gone.

Ridgeley:

Mornin norm that sounds like a good plan! Am just after a key ring myself so if yvette finds one in the lost property I'll have first dibs! Canny day today mind almost tropicana weather!

poolynorm:

Morning everyone.Hopefully the weather holds and Durham win the game.It seems there's a end of season touch to this game.Hiya Ridgey, I'm planning on asking Brando to see if Karl Turners got a couple of DCCC jumpers. One for Shaq Attack the other for Roker1973.As a last resort maybe Yvette can check the lost property box.

Ridgeley:

Any sign of shaqharris at the clubshop yet? Apparantly he's planning a one man protest which involves chaining himself to the shop!!!!! :-o

Bowling update

Graham Onions takes the ball at the opposite end. Worcs 73-2.

10:35am

Here we go!

For the last time this season - play is about to begin on day four! Worcester resume on 65-2. Thorp to open the bowling.

10:30am

CollingwoodFTM:

Good luck today lads. I can't believe the season finishes today.

BrianT:

For the first time in ages Durham looked in full control for a couple of sessions. Great to watch Mitch pick up runs that could be vital. Be through after lunch assuming game isn't finished.

Day four

Well, the final day of the season is upon us - let's finish with a win! Play is scheduled to start on time at 10.30am.

8:33am
