WIN TICKETS TO AVIVA BRITISH GRAND PRIX
Aviva British Grand Prix
Britain’s track and field stars are planning a victorious homecoming when they compete at the Aviva British Grand Prix in Gateshead on Sunday August 31.
Heptathlete Kelly Sotherton, triple jumper Phillips Idowu, and 400m world champion Christine Ohuruogu are all on the startlist for what is one of the biggest meetings on the global athletics circuit.
In 2006, the last time the world elite in track and field came to Gateshead, Asafa Powell netted a world record in the 100m, and in 2004 Russia’s Yelena Isinbayeva matched that feat in the women’s pole vault. This year is sure to provide even more excitement when sprint star Asafa Powell returns for a 100m showdown with Tyson Gay. This will be one of many exciting clashes between some of Britain and the world’s leading athletics stars.
The Aviva British Grand Prix provides fun for all the family with free activities including face painters and children entertainers. Don’t miss the Heroes Homecoming at Gateshead International Stadium, book tickets now.
