Thorp celebrates

Durham claimed their third LV= County Championship win of the season beating Worcester by an innings and 25 runs at New Road.

Durham made an early breakthrough with Scott Borthwick on a hat-trick after taking two wickets in two balls in the fourth over the day, firstly dismissing Gareth Andrew, who was caught at deep square leg by Ben Stokes the delivery after scoring his fifty, and then catching Wright off his own delivery.

A mix up in the middle the following over saw Richard Jones run out without scoring and Worcester 291-8 after in the fifth over of the day.

Ben Scott went on to score his fifty and the final pair showed some resistance added 44 to the Worcester total but his innings was brought to an end when he was caught by Stokes off Harmison for 73, handing Durham third four day win of the season.
