Durham v Lancashire LV County Championship
Durham's Mark Davies has an exceptional day with the ball as he returns figures of 7-33 on day one of the LV County Championship game against Lancashire.
Durham after being asked to field bowled 54.1overs as Lancashire were dismissed for 143. After a patient opening stand of 33 was broken by Mark Davies as he had Mark Chilton caught behind by the safe hands of Michael Di Venuto. Steve Harmison then removed Horton with the score still on 33 as Durham pushed for wickets. As Lancashire began to steady their innings Mark Davies struck.
With the score on 93 Davies picked up four wickets without a run being added. He began with the wicket of Mal Loye for 39 before getting Flintoff, Sutton and Hogg all for ducks. at 93-7 Lancashire were looking to stage a big recovery but Davies then dismissed Law for 18. The tail tried to wag adding 43 altogether before Pul Collingwood removed the last two wickets to put Durham in a strong position on day one.
