Will Smith once again won the toss and elected to bat first in the Dynamos match against Leicestershire Foxes at Riverside tonight. The pre match entertainment included a mascot race between Chester the Lion and Charlie the Fox, from Leicester and it was Chester who walked away victorious after negotiating the hurdles and hula hoops and completing the press up challenge ahead of his challenger!
The Men in Black started well and were 35-1 after the first five overs with Phil Mustard caught by Paul Nixon off the bowling of Harry Gurney for 15. Michael Di Venuto was Wyatt's first victim after he was caught by Boyce in the next over.
Paul Collingwood added 9 to the score but was bowled by Wyatt leaving the Dynamos 54-3. Ian Blackwell returned to the pavilion without scoring after he was caught by Wyatt in Naik's first over. Will Smith (0) was caught by Nixon off Wyatt with Durham 55-6.
Dale Benkenstein was run out on 19, bringing Gareth Breese to the crease to join Kyle Coetzer. Durham reached the hundred mark in the 17th over. Breesy added a much needed 37 to the total off just 15 balls before he was caught by du Toit off the bowling of White.
Mitchell Claydon was bowled by White, with Kyle Coetzer (39) and Graham Onions (1) seeing out the remainder of the overs. The Men in Black put a total of 144 on the board to defend.
Neil Killeen opened the Durham attack and was rewarded in his second over when he had Ackerman caught by Benkenstein for 15. After 5 overs the Foxes were 29-1. Paul Collingwood came on at the Lumley end to bowl the seventh over and picked up a wicket in his second over when Mitchell Claydon pulled off an impressive one handed catch sending Taylor back to the dressing room with 10 runs to his name.
Allenby put on 53 before being caught by Will Smith in the last over, which was bowled by Paul Collingwood. The scores were level witth one ball to go after Nixon and du Toit took advantage and they managed to lead the Foxes to victory.
