Northamptonshire Steelbacks v Durham Dynamos
Sunday 21 August 2011, 1.45pm start
Wantage Road, Northampton
Clydesdale Bank 40
With two games remaining in the group stage of the Clydesdale Bank 40 Durham Dynamos need to secure a win at Wantage Road on Sunday (21 August) when they play Northamptonshire Steelbacks in order to keep themselves in the running for a semi final place, which they could secure either by winning the group or by being the best second placed team overall.
Durham need to reduce the points deficit in Group B between themselves and top placed Surrey Lions, who are four points ahead also with two games left to play, including a head to head against the Dynamos.
Head Coach, Geoff Cook, has named a fifteen man squad for the fixture which includes Ben Stokes, Graham Onions and Scott Borthwick, all of whom will be looking to impress after being named in England’s 13 man ODI squad for their game against Ireland next week.
Mitchell Claydon (18) goes into the game as Durham’s leading wicket taker in the competition while opener Phil Mustard and Stokes both have one day hundred’s to their names this year.
