Sam Stoker was assistant secretary during the club's last few years as a Minor County
Durham CCC is saddened to learn that Sam Stoker, the club's former assistant secretary, has passed away.
Born in Durham in 1936, Sam became a very popular character in cricketing circles and represented the county twice. He was also a former Senior Tutor and Vice Master of Durham University's Hatfield College.
He died at the home his daughter, Sarah, shares with her husband, former Lancashire, Durham and England batsman Graeme Fowler, in Hett village, near Croxdale.
The funeral will take place at 11.30am on Friday, August 8 at Durham Crematorium (Details here)
