Latest news from the physio room
Durham CCC physio Nigel Kent has been keeping a watchful eye on those players who had operations at the start of the close season and here he gives us a brief update on their progress. He expects each of the guys listed to be fit, well and raring to go for the start of the season – good news!
• Mark Davies - returned from England duty in South Africa with a sore ankle, this isn’t linked to the injury he had last year. He is currently resting from heavy training.
• Ian Blackwell – has been recovering from a shoulder operation that took place in October. He is about to start bowling and throwing.
• Will Gidman – following an operation on his ankle at the end of the 2009 season Will resumed fitness training before Christmas, including some of the outdoor activities such as the cross country trip trail, mountain biking and touch rugby as well as gym work. Now the pre season net sessions have begun he will start bowling indoors.
• Neil Killeen – is on course to start a running programme following his achilles operation last season.
