Latest update from the physio
With the season less than three weeks away Durham CCC physio Nigel Kent has been keeping a watchful eye on the Durham squad, monitoring those players that have been training all winter and also assessing those players who are slowly but surely returning from winters abroad and playing overseas.
Mark Davies had injection and further scans on his niggling ankle and further investigation revealed a loose piece of bone in his ankle joint. He had an operation last week to remove it. He is currently progressing well, will go on tour with the team and will hopefully have a chance of being fit for the start of the season.
Mitchell Claydon returned from Australia with a niggling achilles. He was monitored through early training sessions and is now fully fit and well.
Ian Blackwell has been continuing his rehabilitation after shoulder surgery. He began bowling and throwing in the nets in early February and according to Nigel is raring to go for the start of the season!
We'll feature regular updates with Nigel to keep you up to date throughout the season.
