Calum MacLeod and Phil Mustard both hit half centuries but Tom Moores' sensational 155 ensured Nottinghamshire cruised to victory against Durham's second string.
England bowler Mark Wood also made his return to bowling duties, returning figures of 0/17 from five overs while also making a quickfire 38 from 30 balls.
But their 244/8 was overturned with relative ease as Moores' knock, from 115 balls including 12x4s and 10x6s, saw the hosts reach the target with ten overs remaining.
After losing Adam Hickey early upon being asked to bat first, Mustard and MacLeod set about posting a challenging total.
Their second wicket stand was worth 109 before the former fell, caught behind off Connor Marshall, and Stuart Poynter followed to bring Wood to the crease.
And he was in explosive touch, striking four sixes and a four from number five before spinner Sam Wood removed him with just over ten overs to go.
But from 198/5, Neil Killeen's side could only muster 244/8; Asher Hart struck 23, including a maximum.
Notts made a conservative start before three quick wickets left Durham with the advantage.
Hickey took all three, including that of Australian all-rounder Dan Christian for a duck.
But Moores, son of ex-England head coach Peter, launched a brutal assault.
Will Gidman made just 39 from a 143-run partnership between the pair as Moores put Durham to the sword.
He fell five runs short of victory, bowled by Hart, but Notts recorded the win.
