Onions appeals

Durhamccc.co.uk caught up with Graham Onions, who picked up three wickets  during the innings, on his thoughts on the game so far.

“Once we get that final wicket, hopefully as early as possible, it’ll be interesting to see how we bat on it.  It’s tough to know what is a good score on that wicket, it did a bit out there this morning but towards the end it wasn’t doing as much. 

“It’s all about the team effort, today it was great to see the wickets shared about, everyone knows that  Thorpy has bowled phenomenally well throughout the season, it’s great to see Colly back and to have Harmy coming in to do a good job too.  

“Personally, to get three wickets I was really pleased but it’s important that we wrap up the innings early tomorrow and try to bat as well as we can. Big first innings set up wins so we need to bat well.

“You don’t know what’s going to come weather wise, yesterday (day one) was frustrating to spend the day sitting around.  This morning we came off and we needed to make sure we were ready from ball one when we came back. We were ready and started well, we’re confident that as long as we bat well tomorrow, we can set up a game.”
