Pudsey at the Port
Durham County Cricket Clubs Clydesdale Bank 40 partner, The Port of Tyne, has been showing its spots for Children in Need, and staff at the Port have been organising events to help raise as much moey as possible for this year’s appeal.
Pudsey the bear even made a special visit to the Port to help out and boost the teams fundraising efforts.
Susan Wear, Port of Tyne Director of Corporate Affairs, said: “The volunteers, who have been organising the usual bonanza of events for Children in Need have been selling raffle tickets for prizes generously donated by many of our customers and stakeholders, they have organised a charity auction and a fabulous bake sale.
“Pudsey was able to lend a helping hand and he even found time to entertain passengers at the Port’s International Passenger Terminal.”
The Port has raised an incredible £1,571 so far with more money still flooding in to help disadvantaged children in the UK. Durham County Cricket Club have donated a bat signed by the entire first team squad to the Port of Tyne to help raise funds and allow Children in Need to make a real difference to the children’s lives in the UK.
