Ryan Pringle and Stuart Poynter both hit centuries as the second team thrashed Northumberland in a friendly match at Emirates Durham ICG.
The pair added 172 for the third wicket as the hosts amassed a huge total of 397 for the loss of just four wickets, and then Alastair Maiden's side dismissed the visitors inside 33 overs to complete a dominant all-round display.
Captain Mark Stoneman collected a half-century whilst Usman Arshad impressed with the ball, taking 3-24 from five overs.
It was a chastening experience for Northumberland, captained by former Leicestershire batsman Jacques Du Toit, after they had won the toss and elected to field first on a chilly day in the North East.
Durham lost the early wicket of Graham Clark (17) but Pringle and Stoneman scored quickly until the left-hander, who struck 12 boundaries, was bowled by Sean Tindale with the score on 167.
Northumberland's bowlers wouldn't be celebrating again until the end of the 46th over, as Pringle and Poynter smashed 172 from just 109 balls. Pringle cleared the boundary rope seven times during his innings, whilst Poynter finished unbeaten on 107 from only 66 deliveries.
Arshad then wiped out the top three as Northumberland's reply got off to a poor start. Barry McCarthy took the key wicket of Du Toit and the visitors slumped to 95-8, with Peter Chase bowling Tindale and having Ward caught behind in the same over.
A tenth wicket stand of 41 only delayed the inevitable, with Durham cruising to a 261-run win.
The two sides play another one-day friendly at the same venue on Monday. Entry to the match is free but if you are unable to attend then our Twitter service will provide regular updates and there will be a match report posted on durhamccc.co.uk.
