Durham all-rounder Ben Stokes has retained his place in the England squad for the 2nd Investec Test against India.

The 23-year-old impressed with the ball during the 1st Test at Trent Bridge, taking 2-81 from 34 overs on a placid pitch in Nottingham.

India eventually batted out to a draw in their second innings so both sides will head to Lord's for the game on Thursday looking to pick up a first win in the five test series.

Lancashire's left arm spinner Simon Kerrigan, who has been capped once at Test level, has been added to the England squad.
