The Champions - 2013
Durham captain Paul Collingwood, along with players and coaching staff from the 2013 LV= County Championship winning squad, travelled to London on Wednesday 30th October where they were officially presented with the Lord’s Taverners/ECB Trophy (LV= County Championship Trophy)
This was the 30th Anniversary of the annual presentation at Buckingham Palace where the players were presented to HRH The Duke of Edinburgh with their winners medals.
Prior to their visit to the Palace the players visited The Lord’s Taverners head quarters at Buckingham Place for a lunch reception where Paul Collingwood was presented with the ECB Lord’s Taverners Trophy by the current President of The Lord’s Taverners, Chris Cowdrey, with ECB and LV= representatives present.
Durham CCC Captain, Paul Collingwood said “It’s a tremendous honour to be invited to the Lord’s Taverners and Buckingham Palace, certainly not something you do every day. It’s a good opportunity to get back together with a few of the players and coaches to receive our medals and a great way to top off a tremendous season. Winning the trophy at Emirates Durham ICG was one of my career highlights, but there is something really special about meeting HRH The Duke of Edinburgh. A real day to remember and I'm sure speaking on behalf of everyone at Club a real day to be proud."
