Date of birth - 11 July 1986 Sunderland, County Durham
Durham First Class Debut - April 2010 v Yorkshire (away)

Having primarily received plaudits for his red ball exploits over previous years, Chris Rushworth was a key factor in the Durham Jets reaching Finals Day at Edgbaston.

The initial plan may not have been for Rushworth to feature heavily in white ball cricket but the Sunderland-born seamer’s accuracy, traditionally more suited to four-day cricket, proved a huge asset in the limited overs format.

He delivered the most dot balls of any bowler in the tournament and helped to stifle opposition batsman from the beginning, establishing a formidable partnership with Mark Wood in the latter stages. Rushworth twice took three wickets in miserly spells against Yorkshire to finish with 19 T20 Blast wickets, the best return of his career.

2015’s award-winning Championship season would always prove difficult to top and an early season injury hampered Rushworth’s momentum, though he still finished with 32 wickets to his name.

Once released by the club before coming back on to the books, Rushworth remains one of the most accurate bowlers in the domestic game and took national headlines in 2014, when he took 15 wickets for just 95 runs against Northamptonshire.
