Durham County Cricket Foundation

Durham  County Cricket Club is in the process of setting up its own charity.  The Durham County Cricket Foundation will use the power of sport to deliver programmes that fall into one of the following five pillars; Grassroots Sport, Club Development, Health, Education and Social Cohesion.

These programmes will be delivered into our local community which we consider to be County Durham, Northumberland, Cumbria and Teesside.  All programmes will be further enhanced by the resources that as a professional sports club Durham CCC are able to use such as Stadium Visits, Professional Cricketers and Match Day events.

We aim to interact with over 50,000 people within our community each year and amongst other things we aim to build self-esteem, to raise expectations, to heighten standards, to offer people the opportunity to become fitter, healthier and more active, to help develop local communities, to tackle issues such as racism, bullying, anti-social behaviour and to encourage more people to commit to their education.

Durham County Cricket Club and its players are great role models for the local community and the Durham County Cricket Foundation is the way in which we will make sure we make the most use of this status to support our community.
