Since its launch in the summer of 2009, Durham County Cricket Foundation has had an immeasurable impact on thousands of people in the region as it aims to provide inspiration, motivation and raised self-esteem to our local community using the power of sport.
The Foundation’s programmes look to use the inspiring venue and setting of the Emirates Riverside and the winning team of Durham County Cricket Club to inspire learning and personal development.
These projects are not just undertaken in Durham, but can be right across the region, including Northumberland, Tyne and Wear, Cleveland and Cumbria.
Durham County Cricket Foundation aims to support the communities in the region by delivering unique programmes that use the resources Durham CCC has to offer with an international sporting facility, the unique match-day experience and the opportunity to meet professional cricketers who are excellent role models for the young people.
Each year the Foundation interacts with over 3000 people on a variety of different activities based in three areas
• Health and Well-Being
We run several projects to deliver across the three areas.
Learning beyond the Boundary delivers largely education activities to enhance and support young people. Our 50 Not Out project delivers a range of activities to support those over 50s in the region and Sportability is a pan-disability sports club.
The Foundation would like to take the opportunity to thank their partners for their support. The Esh Charitable Trust, Cestria Community Housing, Port of Tyne, Northumbrian Water Ltd, Go North East, Sunderland University and Profound Services give the Foundation valuable support and help us make the impact on the communities in the region.
