WELCOME TO THE RIVERSIDE

Durham County Cricket Club experienced its most successful season to date in 2008, claiming the LV County Championship after just 17 years as a first class county.  The team also made it to the semi final of The Friends Provident Trophy and the Twenty20 Cup, as well as finishing in their highest ever position in the first division of the NatWest Pro40 competition.  

Dale Benkenstein led from the front since 2006 and has played a major role in bringing silverware to the Club and has since passed the captaincy over to Will Smith who will take over the reigns.  We are delighted to have secured Shivnarine Chanderpaul as our overseas player for 2009 and also the commitment of the majority of last years squad for seasons to come.  The Club is determined to maintain the success of the Club by continuing to nurture local talent through the Academy and by signing players to join us who we believe can add depth to the squad.

After recent successes we will be the team to beat in 2009 and we hope that you will join us for what promises to be a truly exciting season.
