Date of birth - 28 February 1995 Lanark, Scotland
Durham First Class Debut - May 2014 v Nottinghamshire (away)

Despite a restricted amount of playing time on the field during 2016, Gavin Main is still a highly-rated talent and one of Scotland’s best prospects.

The 22-year-old rose to prominence during the 2014 season when thrust into First XI action against Nottinghamshire, taking 3-72 at Trent Bridge including the wicket of Stuart Broad for nought.

Injuries have once again halted Main’s progress and reduced him to intermittent appearances for the Second XI, but he did feature at the ICC World T20 and took 1/13 against Hong Kong in one of the qualifying games.

That was the only game he has played for Scotland since 2015 and Main is targeting a return to full fitness to stake a claim at both domestic and international level in the coming season.
