Mark Stoneman once again showed himself to be a model of consistency in 2015, regularly performing in each format.
There are few more complete openers in the country, as backed up by his statistics - over 1,000 Championship runs for the third season running, alongside being the team's leading run-scorer in both limited-overs competitions.
It has led to a number of enquiries about why England, seemingly still looking for Alastair Cook's permanent opening partner, have not tried the 28-year-old but Stoneman knows he needs the big hundreds to really force the issue at international level.
The Newcastle-born batsman featured in each of the club's fixtures last season and is turning into an increasingly effective captain in the limited-overs formats, while also boasting a List A career average north of 40.
He spent the winter playing grade cricket in Sydney, playing his part as his side won the double, but not before he celebrated his own marriage in November.
An attacking, fearless cricketer, Stoneman led Durham to the One Day Trophy during 2014 and hopes to add many more to the cabinet in the future.
