Parking and Transport Options

Parking and Transport arrangements for the NatWest Series One Day International match between England and New Zealand have now been finalised.  With the match fast approaching it is an opportune time to start thinking about your travel arrangements. The following information is designed to give you details of some of the travelling options available to you to ensure your day runs as smoothly as possible.

PARK AND RIDE

A ‘park and ride’ service will be available from the Belmont Park and Ride site off Junction 62 on the A1. Spaces are limited and will be dealt with on a first come first serve basis and should be booked in advance by contacting the BOX OFFICE (Tel: 0844 499 4466)  If tickets are booked in advance there will a charge of £4. The first bus will leave Belmont at 8.30am and buses will then commute on a regular basis up until 10.30am.

TRAINS

 Chester-le-Street railway station is situated in the town centre and is a 15 minute walk from the Riverside stadium. A very limited train will be operating to Chester-le-Street on teh day of the One Day International.

Bookings are now being taken and further information is available from www.nationalrail.com or Tel: 08457 484 950. A SMS service will be promoted on the big screen in the ground to check on train times throughout the day for your return journey.

BUSES

A number of buses from Newcastle, Sunderland, Durham and Consett commute frequently to Chester-le-Street, and stop within walking distance of the ground, some directly outside. Information on the bus timetables are available from www.traveline.org.uk or Tel: 0871 200 2233

PARKING ON SITE

The Riverside stadium is well served with on site parking with three large public car parks.
•  Parking permits sold on the day are priced at £10; however the amount of spaces remaining will be limited.
