T20I is one format where every associate nation holds the same importance as test-playing nations. Hence, when you look at the list of the batters with the most ducks in T20Is, you’ll find a lot of names from associate countries. There are a few names from teams like Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, India, and Ireland. Before looking at the list of top 10 batters with the most ducks in T20Is, let’s understand what exactly a duck is and the types of ducks that exist in cricket.

A duck is when a batter is dismissed without scoring any runs in cricket. Ten different types of ducks have been named so far. Golden duck is the first type and is called when a batter is dismissed for zero on the very first delivery they face in an innings. Then there are Silver Duck, Bronze Duck, Diamond Duck, and Platinum Duck.
Silver Duck is when a batter is dismissed on the second ball they face in an innings, while Bronze Duck is when a batter is dismissed on the third delivery. A Diamond Duck is when a batter is dismissed for nought without facing any delivery. This can happen either due to a run-out or getting timed out before playing a ball. Platinum Duck is reserved only for opening batters. When an opening batter is dismissed on a duck on the very first delivery of the team’s innings, it is called a Platinum Duck.
Apart from this, five different types of ducks are in cricket. When a batter is dismissed without scoring any runs on the last delivery of an innings, it is called a Laughing Duck. It is called a Pair if a batter is dismissed for zero in both innings of a Test or first-class match. When they get rejected for zero on the first ball faced in both innings of a Test or first-class game, it is called a King Pair.
Two more types of ducks are scarce. The first one is the Titanium Duck, reserved for an opening batter who gets dismissed without facing a ball on the first delivery of the team’s innings. The last type of duck is called Golden Goose, and it occurs when a batter is dismissed for zero on the first ball of the first match of a new season.
