Plunkett: To pick up six wickets was awesome

“It’s been frustrating not playing so it’s just nice to play again.  I feel fresh, obviously I’ve not played because of my groin but to pick up six wickets was awesome.  We bowled well as a unit and to keep them under 200 was good for us”, said Plunkett.

“This year I was really enjoying my cricket to start with and I was getting a few runs so it was disappointing to get that injury at that time but as I came back today I’m chuffed to pick up the wickets and hopefully will get a few more and a few runs as well.

“I tore my groin, and there is something niggling around which probably isn’t going to go until I get a few months rest but once I knew the tear wasn’t there anymore and I could play through the niggle, I would.  It stood up well today and hopefully it will for the rest of the year” he added.

Durham resume on 40-3 on day two after Worcestershire picked up quick wickets in the last session.

“Kabir is a great bowler, and Mason as well, Kabir always picks up wickets because he swings the ball and the conditions suited him today.  Obviously we lost three quick wickets but Kyle Coetzer and Dale Benkenstein are the current partnership and hopefully they can get us through to 200 plus”, Plunkett said.
