Sussex v Durham Second Eleven Friendly latest

Durham declared on 304-5 after 99 overs with the two Ben’s (Raines and Stokes) the main contributors to the total.  Ben Raine was trapped lbw by Wood on 112 and Ben Stokes was bowled by Adkin on 65.

Durham picked up the wicket of Sussex opener Smith when he was given out lbw off the bowling of Wood without scoring.

Durham’s Second Eleven travelled to Horsham for a three day friendly against Sussex which started on Tuesday.  Durham captain Paul Wiseman won the toss and elected to field first.

At close of play on day 1 Sussex had declared on 414 after losing seven wickets.  Wood (2-48) and Borthwick (2-63) were the pick of the Durham attack, with Borthwick claiming the wicket of top scoring Hopkinson (117).

Ben Raine and Karl Turner began Durham’s response and were unbeaten on 14 and 23 respectively at the close.
