Women’s Cricket Day at Riverside

Open invitations to the event were extended by Durham Cricket Board Development Officers to Clubs in their districts to encourage girls and women who were interested in cricket to come along and benefit from specialised batting, bowling and fielding drills as well as basic skill development.

Those who attended will then be fed into their local Clubs to get them more involved in the game and hopefully get the players signed up to a team.

The sessions were also supported  by England cricketers Jenny Gunn and Danielle Hazell, who is also on the Durham Academy, giving the girls plenty of inspiration.  Durham seamer Mitchell Claydon also stopped by for a question and answer session about life as a professional cricketer.

For more information on your local Club please contact Durham Cricket Board on 0191 387 2865.
