Royal Challengers Bengaluru have received a major boost ahead of the WPL 2026 playoffs with the return of star all-rounder Pooja Vastrakar, who was signed for Rs 85 lakh in the auction. She was sidelined since October 2024 with a shoulder injury followed by a late hamstring setback, but is now fully fit and ready to contribute to RCB’s dream second title run. After months of recovery at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence, Vastrakar has rejoined the squad in Vadodara and is in line to make her first appearance of the season at the most crucial juncture of the tournament.
RCB’s Perfect Season Continues
RCB have been nothing short of sensational in WPL 2026, marching through the league stage with a flawless 5-out-of-5 record. Despite missing key players like Vastrakar and Ellyse Perry, who ruled herself out due to personal reasons, Smriti Mandhana’s side has showcased incredible depth and adaptability. Their most recent victory came against Gujarat Giants, where they secured a dominant 61-run win powered by Gautami Naik’s brilliant 73 and Sayali Satghare’s impressive 3/21.

The WPL 2024 champions currently sit comfortably at the top of the table with 10 points, having already sealed their playoff berth. What makes their campaign even more remarkable is the collective effort; five different players have won Player of the Match awards across their five victories, highlighting the team’s balanced approach and match-winning contributions from multiple corners.
Different Heroes, Same Result
RCB’s strength this season has been their ability to find different match-winners in different situations. From Nadine de Klerk’s rare four-wicket haul and match-winning fifty in the opener to England spinner Linsey Smith adapting to open the bowling, the team has thrived on flexibility. With upcoming fixtures against Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians, and UP Warriorz, Vastrakar’s return couldn’t have been timed better as RCB chase their second WPL trophy.
