Four losses from four matches. That is the harsh reality staring Rawalpindi Pindiz in the face after Multan Sultans dismantled their bowling with 22 balls to spare.

Sahibzada Farhan smashed 68 off 38 balls with three sixes in a single Rishad Hossain over that killed the contest. Josh Philippe was equally destructive in a 110 run second wicket stand that turned a competitive 183 into a stroll.

Faisal Akram’s 4/31 had restricted the Pindiz to 182/8, but Sam Billings’ fighting 56 not out was never going to be enough on this surface. Ashton Turner sealed the win with a pulled six.

First Innings: Faisal Akram Rips Through Pindiz Before Billings Rescues

Rizwan started aggressively with two fours off Nawaz’s opening over. Muhammad Ismail struck early, bowling Yasir Khan for 5 with an inswinger. Kamran Ghulam smashed two fours off Siddle and a six off Ismail before Faisal Akram changed everything.

The leg spinner claimed three wickets in four overs, removing Ghulam for 35, trapping Rizwan lbw and dismissing Fazal at short third. Dian Forrester launched three consecutive sixes off Nawaz but Siddle ended his cameo at 24.

Billings was left alone with the tail and produced a masterclass in strike manipulation. His unbeaten 56 off 34 balls dragged the Pindiz to 182/8.

Second Innings: Farhan’s Three Sixes in One Over Ends the Contest

Smith departed for 5 off Amir but that only brought Farhan and Philippe together. Philippe announced himself with two fours off Amir Khan and a gorgeous inside out drive off Afridi. Farhan matched him with back to back sixes off Mohammad Amir.

The 10th over killed the match. Farhan smashed Rishad for three sixes in succession as 26 runs came off it. The Pindiz fielders stood helpless. Philippe reached his fifty with a six over long off before falling for 56.

Farhan brought up his own fifty and kept accelerating until a fine yorker from Amir Khan ended his knock at 68. Turner finished it with a pulled six off Forrester.
