Eden Gardens witnessed a one-sided affair as Sunrisers Hyderabad crushed Kolkata Knight Riders by 65 runs to register their first win of IPL 2026.
Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma recorded the season’s highest powerplay score of 84/1 with a breathtaking display of power hitting. Klaasen’s 52 and Nitish Reddy’s 39 then pushed SRH to an imposing 226/8.
Finn Allen’s 7 ball 28 gave KKR a flying start but the hosts lost their way spectacularly. Angkrish Raghuvanshi’s fighting 52 went in vain as KKR were bowled out for 161 in just 16 overs. Jaydev Unadkat claimed 3/21 while Nitish Reddy chipped in with two crucial wickets.

KKR vs SRH First Innings Highlights
Travis Head smashed 21 runs off Vaibhav Arora’s second over including two sixes and a four. Abhishek Sharma then demolished Varun Chakaravarthy with 25 runs in a single over featuring two sixes and two fours.
Consequently, SRH raced to 84/1 in the powerplay. However, Muzarabani struck twice in one over, removing Kishan for 14 and Abhishek for 48. Anukul Roy then dismissed Aniket Verma as SRH slumped to 123/4.
Klaasen and Nitish Reddy rebuilt with an 82 run fifth wicket stand. Klaasen brought up his fifty off a free hit before Muzarabani had him caught for 52. The Zimbabwean finished with impressive figures of 4/41.

Finn Allen produced one of the most explosive starts in IPL history, smashing 24 runs off David Payne’s first over including four fours and two sixes.
However, Harsh Dubey took a brilliant return catch to dismiss him for 28 off just 7 balls. Meanwhile, Raghuvanshi smashed two sixes off Abhishek Sharma and brought up his fifty off 29 balls. A terrible run out ended his innings at 52 when Rinku Singh sent him back mid pitch.
Consequently, KKR collapsed from 120/4 as Nitish Reddy dismissed Rinku for 35 at short third man. Furthermore, Eshan Malinga removed Narine for 12 and Ramandeep for 10 in quick succession. Unadkat wrapped up the tail with two wickets as KKR were bowled out for 161 in 16 overs.
