Fourteen runs off the final over. The Kingsmen had clawed back from nowhere and were favourites with six balls to go.
Then Iftikhar Ahmed smashed a four and six off Hunain Shah to rip the game away from Hyderabad’s grasp. The man who had destroyed the Kingsmen top order with 4/21 finished the job with bat in hand.
Kusal Perera’s fighting 58 off 35 had dragged HYDK from 34/4 to 145 but it proved insufficient on a slow Karachi surface. Four losses from four for the Kingsmen as Labuschagne stood distraught on the final ball.
