Punjab Kings defeated Chennai Super Kings by 5 wickets in Match 7 of IPL 2026 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. CSK posted a strong total of 209/5 in 20 overs thanks to a superb knock from Ayush Mhatre, but PBKS chased it down comfortably in 18.4 overs.

Priyansh Arya gave Punjab a flying start with a blistering cameo, while Prabhsimran Singh and Cooper Connolly kept the momentum going in the middle overs. Shreyas Iyer then anchored the chase with a composed half-century.

Despite a couple of wickets in the middle overs, PBKS remained in control of the chase. Shashank Singh and Marcus Stoinis finished the job as Punjab Kings sealed a convincing victory with eight balls to spare.

Chennai Super Kings lost Sanju Samson early for 7 as Xavier Bartlett struck in the second over. However, Ayush Mhatre and Ruturaj Gaikwad rebuilt the innings with a steady partnership.
