Zimbabwe holds the title for highest T20I score in history when they scored 344 runs against Gambia in 2024. Ever since then nobody was able to break this record many have come really close to breaking this record.

The second highest score is by Austria when they scored 322 against Hungary on 28th June 2026. England is the only team to score 300 in T20Is after that India scored 297 runs against Bangladesh.

Zimbabwe scored a total of 344/4 inside the allocated 20 overs against Gambia in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Sub-Regional Africa Qualifier in 2024, which is still the highest ever total scored by a team in a T20I match.

Batters were at their brutal best as every single batter contributed with the bat, and the skipper Sikandar Raza’s 133* from 43 balls was the standout performance. A combined batting effort led the runs to flow easily. Zimbabwe later went on to win the match by 290 runs.

2. Austria vs Hungary – 322/7 (28 June 2026)

Karanbir Singh was the star of the show, smashing 164 off just 57 balls to earn the Player of the Match award. He reached his century in only 37 balls and finished with 17 fours and 11 sixes.

Late fireworks from Abidullah Kotwa, who blasted 93 off just 26 balls including 12 sixes, pushed the total past 320. Hungary were bowled out for 165 in reply as Austria completed a dominant 157-run victory and a 3-0 series sweep.

3. Nepal vs Mongolia – 314/3 (27 September 2023)

Nepal’s 314/3 against Mongolia is the second-highest total in the history of Twenty-20 Internationals. The Asian team achieved this feat in the 2023 Asian Games Men’s Cricket competition in China.

The young left-handed batter Kushal Malla was the architect of the innings with a power-packed 137* from 50 balls, and Rohit Paudel and D Singh Airee contributed with quickfire fifties. The bowlers made sure in the second innings and capitalized on their batters’ performances with a 273-run win.

Nepal registered their second entry on the highest T20I totals list when they hammered 313/2 against China in the Asian Games Men’s T20I Qualifier at the Singapore Cricket Club. Kushal Bhurtel was the architect with a devastating 129 off 43 balls, breaking Nepal’s record for most sixes in a T20I innings with 16 maximums.

Kushal Malla contributed 85 at the other end, while captain Rohit Paudel added 69 as Nepal barely lost a wicket throughout the innings. China were bundled out for 92, giving Nepal a massive 221-run victory.

5. Germany vs Austria – 308/1 (01 May 2026)

Germany posted the fifth-highest total in T20I history when both their openers scored centuries against Austria in the 1st T20I at the Bayer Uerdingen Cricket Ground in Krefeld. Ben Kohler-Cadmore smashed 133 not out, reaching his century off just 38 balls with 12 fours and six sixes — the highest individual score by a German batter in T20Is.

His opening partner Musaddiq Ahmed was equally destructive, scoring 122 off 48 balls with 10 fours and eight sixes. Germany lost just one wicket in the entire 20 overs, finishing on 308/1. Austria were bowled out for 146 in 15.1 overs as Germany ran out 162-run winners.

6. England vs South Africa – 304/2 (12 September 2025)

England dominated the South African bowlers on 12th September 2025 in Manchester during the 2nd T20I of South Africa’s tour of England. They scored 304 runs for 2 wickets in 20 overs.

The South African bowlers struggled from the beginning. Openers Phil Salt (141 not out from 60 balls) and Jos Buttler (83 from 30 balls) focused on hitting boundaries on almost every delivery they faced. The hosts won the match by 146 runs.

This score ranks 4th among all-time highest T20I totals. Wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson led the charge from the start, scoring 111 runs off just 47 balls, which included 11 fours and eight sixes. Captain Suryakumar Yadav contributed 75 runs from 35 balls, and late efforts from Riyan Parag and Hardik Pandya helped secure the big total. India won the 3rd T20I match of the series by 133 runs.

8. Spain vs Croatia – 290/3 (07 December 2025)

Spain produced their highest ever T20I total during the 4th T20I of Croatia’s tour at Cartagena, smashing 290/3 in 20 overs at a run rate of 14.50. Mohammad Ihsan was at the heart of the carnage with a match-winning 160, his highest T20I score and the centrepiece of a series where he accumulated 283 runs in three innings at an average of 141.50.

Hamza Dar provided explosive support lower down the order. Croatia had no answer in the chase and managed just 75/8 in their 20 overs, handing Spain a commanding 215-run victory as they completed a 5-0 whitewash.

9. Rwanda vs Ivory Coast – 288/2 (24 May 2026)

Rwanda posted 288/2 against Ivory Coast in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Sub-Regional Africa Qualifier at Gaborone’s Oval 1 ground. Batting at a run rate of 14.40, Rwanda’s top order dominated from the outset and lost only two wickets across the entire 20 overs.

This total is Rwanda’s highest in T20I history, surpassing their previous best, and continues the trend of African associate nations producing explosive batting displays in qualifying tournaments. Rwanda went on to win comfortably.
