The second title was won in 2024 under Rohit Sharma’s leadership, ending a long wait for an ICC trophy. India also reached the final in 2014 but finished as runners-up. These achievements highlight India’s strong presence in the history of T20 cricket.
England: 2010, 2016, 2022
In 2022, England and Pakistan became the 2nd and 3rd teams to reach the T20 World Cup final. England has reached the T20 World Cup finals three times, in 2010, 2016, and 2022.

They have won the title twice; the first victory came in 2010 under the leadership of Paul Collingwood. After losing the 2016 final, England bounced back and lifted the trophy again in 2022 under Jos Buttler.
Pakistan: 2007, 2009, 2022
Pakistan has also reached the T20 World Cup finals three times, in 2007, 2009, and 2022. Pakistan made history by reaching back-to-back finals in 2007 and 2009.

After finishing as runners-up in 2007, Pakistan bounced back strongly and won the 2009 T20 World Cup, emerging as champions. They once again reached the final in 2022 but missed the title.
Sri Lanka: 2009, 2012, 2014
None of the teams has reached the final more than three times, and Sri Lanka is the only team to have appeared in three finals: 2009, 2012, and 2014.

Despite consistent performances, Sri Lanka won the title only once, in 2014. That historic win came after defeating India in the final. The team was led by Lasith Malinga.
West Indies: 2012, 2016
West Indies is the only team with a 100% win record in T20 World Cup finals. They reached the final twice, in 2012 and 2016, and won on both occasions.

West Indies lifted both titles under the leadership of Daren Sammy, making him the only captain to win two T20 World Cups. Their fearless batting, strong bowling, and team spirit made them one of the most dominant sides in T20 World Cup history.
Australia: 2010, 2021
Australia has reached the T20 World Cup final twice, in 2010 and 2021.

Despite being the most successful ODI World Cup team with 6 titles, Australia has limited appearances in T20 finals. Their first and only T20 World Cup win came in 2021, under the leadership of Aaron Finch.
New Zealand: 2022 and South Africa: 2024
South Africa reached their first-ever T20 World Cup final in 2024. Despite a strong tournament, they fell short in the final and have yet to win a T20 World Cup title.

Along with SA, New Zealand reached the T20 World Cup final only once, in 2021. Like South Africa, New Zealand is still searching for its first T20 World Cup win, despite being one of the most competitive teams in world cricket.
